Job Description

We have an opportunity for a Diesel Mechanic to join our team at our Cromwell Branch. You will be supporting the business through maintaining the Queenstown Lakes Collection fleet.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure all vehicles are maintained in a roadworthy condition and comply with regulatory standards.
  • Perform vehicle and body/unit servicing according to preventative maintenance schedules.
  • Respond to call-outs on a rotational basis.
  • Coordinate with Operations Supervisors to schedule vehicle maintenance.
  • Conduct thorough technical inspections of vehicles.
  • Maintain accurate records of all ongoing maintenance work.
  • Annotate all inspections, servicing, and repairs in both job sheets and the in-cab Vehicle History File.
  • Manage job processing through the Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
  • Requisition of necessary repair parts and consumables.
  • Perform daily checks of all Vehicle Workshop tools and equipment to ensure they are serviceable and accounted for.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role you will need:

  • A Heavy Diesel Trade Certificate and experience in the preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs of fleet trucks
  • Driver’s Licence desirable
