Jackson Group Peterbilt in Boise, ID is seeking a full-time Diesel Truck Technician to diagnose and repair diesel trucks and heavy equipment, perform maintenance on transmissions, air brakes, alignments, hydraulics, suspensions and HVAC, and handle tire work, welding and lifting as needed while delivering strong customer service. The role also covers working with excavators, cranes, Caterpillar machinery, forklifts and farm equipment, using schematics and computer tools to diagnose issues. A valid driver's license and CDL, a high school diploma or GED, and about two years of dealership or truck service experience are required, along with basic computer skills and the ability to work in non climate controlled conditions. Responsibilities
- Perform automotive diagnostics on diesel trucks, utilizing mechanical knowledge and hand tools to identify and resolve issues.
- Conduct regular vehicle maintenance tasks, including working on transmissions, air brakes, alignments, hydraulics, suspensions, and HVAC systems.
- Utilize dealership experience and premium skills to work on a variety of heavy equipment such as excavators, cranes, Caterpillar machinery, forklifts, and farm machinery.
- Provide exceptional customer service while servicing vehicles, demonstrating strong communication skills.
- Handle heavy lifting tasks as needed and perform tire services, welding, and soldering when required.
- Operate and maintain industrial equipment efficiently, ensuring all tasks are completed to the highest standards.
- Possess a valid driver's license and CDL to operate vehicles, including Caterpillar machinery.
- Utilize computer skills to access schematics and efficiently diagnose and repair equipment.
