Massachusetts’ Digital Governance and Policy Intern role invites a well organized, purpose driven candidate to help ensure all mass.gov sites meet policy standards and deliver a consistent, trusted experience for constituents. You’ll work with the director and analyst to plan governance, analyze site status, contribute to initiatives, assist with the Trust Center using the Mass.gov CMS, draft a layered privacy statement, refresh domain policy content, and maintain the DiGov SharePoint and trackers. This full-time summer internship runs June 1 to August 7, 2026, on a remote hybrid schedule with 4-8 in-person days per month at One Ashburton Place, Boston, MA, and pays 22 per hour. The Executive Office of Technology Services and Security (EOTSS) is the lead enterprise technology organization for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Charged with driving the ongoing alignment of business and technology across the Commonwealth’s Executive Branch, EOTSS oversees and manages the enterprise technology, digital infrastructure and services, as well as the Commonwealth Security Operations Center and an enterprise Standard Operating Environment that includes an information security and risk management framework for over 125 state agencies and over 43,000 state employees. We directly serve our constituents by providing digital services and tools that enable taxpayers, drivers, businesses, visitors, families and other citizens to do business with the Commonwealth in a way that makes every interaction with government easier, faster, and more secure.

About the role:
Are you interested in ensuring that all the sites that we deliver adhere to our policies and standards to ensure we provide the best, consistent experience for our constituents? We’re looking for a well-organized and purpose driven Digital Governance and Policy (DiGov) Intern to join our Digital Governance team at the Massachusetts Digital Service (Mass Digital). You’ll collaborate with our agency partners and the digital governance team to accelerate the work and impact to deliver governed sites quickly and compliant. As a Digital Governance and Policy Intern, you have a strong and an understanding of the need for standards to ensure our constituents’ experience and outcomes are consistent and trusted when engaging with government services.
In this role you will:
This position is a full-time internship. The work schedule for this position is Monday through Friday, 9:00AM to 5:00PM EST, in a remote hybrid arrangement with 4-8 days per month spent at the primary work location: One Ashburton Place, Boston, Massachusetts 02108. Applicants should be located within reasonable commuting distance from the primary work location.
The duration of this summer internship is from Monday June 1st through Friday, August 7th, 2026.
