Position Summary

As a Digital Print Operator, you will play a key role in producing high‑quality printed materials by operating and maintaining a range of digital print technologies. You will set up and run digital presses and related equipment, monitor output for accuracy and consistency, perform routine maintenance, and uphold our quality and safety standards. This role directly supports our end‑to‑end production workflow by ensuring each job is executed precisely according to specifications and delivered on time.

 

Core Responsibilities

Set Up & Operate Digital Printing Equipment

  • Run a range of digital presses (e.g., Ricoh, HP Indigo, inkjet systems).
  • Read job dockets, select appropriate substrates, and load equipment for each print run.

Monitor Quality & Adjust for Accuracy

  • Continuously inspect output, verify color consistency, check registration, and make real‑time adjustments to maintain print quality.

Perform Routine Maintenance & Troubleshooting

  • Clean, calibrate, and maintain digital printers, resolving jams, performing minor repairs, and coordinating service calls when needed.

Manage Print Jobs & Workflow

  • Prioritize multiple jobs, manage schedules, track job progress, and hand finished output to downstream steps (e.g., bindery, mail inserting) or next department

Support Finishing & Related Production

  • Perform light bindery or finishing tasks such as cutting, folding, laminating, or operating inserters on the direct‑mail side.

Maintain Records & Inventory

  • Document completed work, logging machine activities, tracking materials usage, and ensuring adequate stock levels of paper and consumables are part of the job.

Follow Safety & Quality Standards

  • Adhere to print‑shop safety procedures, maintain clean workspaces, and apply color management and quality‑control practices.

Collaborate With Team Members

  • Work with production staff, supervisors, designers, and project managers to ensure job specifications are met and workflows run smoothly.

 

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Legally eligible to work in Canada.
  • Fluent in English (read, write, speak).
  • Able to obtain and maintain Government of Canada Secret level security clearance.
  • Mechanical aptitude.
  • Basic computer literacy.
  • Able to stand/walk for prolonged periods of time.
  • Able to bend, crouch, reach.
  • Able to lift/carry up to 60 lbs.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience working with automated or semi-automated manufacturing equipment
