The Director Commercial role is a high‑impact leadership position partnering with the Head of Commercial to shape a three‑year strategy and annual budgets, build and recruit a high‑caliber team, and embed AI across the function while delivering a clearly differentiated brand and digital proposition. You will own end‑to‑end marketing management, pricing, and channel expansion including new digital platforms, manage external agencies and partnerships, and drive growth through ecommerce, CRM/CVM, loyalty and AI driven customer journeys. The ideal candidate has 10+ years of senior digital leadership with P&L accountability, proven ability to lead change, and a track record of measurable results; when applying, tailor your CV to quantify growth, include AI and automation projects, showcase channel and revenue wins, confirm UAE onsite readiness, and highlight weekly KPI reporting experience to CCO and EITC.
Key Accountabilities
- Responsible to work with the Head of Commercial to set up the business strategy and long-term plan, including the budget ambitions (3-year strategy & plan, annual marketing plan and annual budget)
- Set up of the team, lead the recruitment of the talent required, ensuring all live the du values. Ensure AI is embedded in the team
- Accountable for the brand strategy and ensuring a clearly differentiated brand positioning and look and feel. Must ensure delivery of our brand promise across external channels as well as internal channels. Will be accountable for delivering amazing digital campaigns that drive traffic into our digital acquisition channels as well as our offline channels. Will also manage brand and communications agencies to achieve this
- Accountable for the end-to-end marketing management including Online Proposition and Pricing strategy and roadmap. Must ensure at all times a ‘uniquely differentiated’ digital proposition is available for customers, where the ‘why du’ reasons are clear and relevant
- Given the digital business model, you will also be responsible for the identification and set up of new channels aligned to making the company a truly digital company. You will identify these channels and manage all commercial negotiations all the way through to execution and then operating these channels. Accountable for growth (trading) including setting the vision for the digital channel including any technical or business requirements and working with the other teams on the delivery of this. Must ensure good efficient communications to drive the acquisition and recharge objectives for the digital channels. Must stay ahead of the curve around industry developments to Ecommerce channels and ensure they are implemented in the business.
- Significant commercial decision-making accountability as per authority matrix
- Active management of a number of external relationships: Channel partners, Media and Communications Agencies, Creative Agencies, and Marketing partnerships.
- Be the Architect of building the future digital platform inclusive of loyalty, engagement (CVM) and automated AI models for customer experience journeys end to end – data inputs to orchestration models, to audience management to campaign management and triggers to end customer
- Manage collaboration with EITC teams on KPIs metrics reporting on a weekly basis; take stock and present weekly performance reports to the Head of Commercial and CCO, EITC on a weekly basis.
Qualifications
Experience
- Successful digital leader who has been involved in at least 10+ years of digital transformation and running of a digital business
- Successful Growth Director or Commercial Director with at least 10+ years digital experience of growing digital channel sales.
- 10+ years; experience as senior executive digital leadership levels, within industry leading companies, across range of sectors
- 10+ years of focused Experience across all elements of digital inc. Ecommerce, Performance marketing, owned and paid media, monetization / optimization of off/on platform digital assets, digital payments and Paymentech solutions, digital marketing and product marketing, Communications, and Media, Loyalty, rewards and customer engagement, AI /ML automation models, customer journey mapping and purchase decision funnels, CRM /CVM systems
Skills
- Strong understanding of AI and how it can be deployed for the benefit of the business and our customers
- Sound understanding of technical requirements and able to engage and liaise with technical director
- Previous P&L accountability at senior level including budget and investment management across 5+ departments
- Successful people manager
- Must-have past experience of commercial and revenue targets
