About Clear Street

Clear Street is modernizing the brokerage ecosystem. Founded in 2018, Clear Street is a diversified financial services firm replacing the legacy infrastructure used across capital markets.

We started from scratch by building a completely cloud-native clearing and custody system designed for today’s complex, global market. Clear Street’s proprietary prime brokerage platform adds significant efficiency to the market, while focusing on minimizing risk, redundancy, and cost for clients. Our goal is to create a single source-of-truth platform for every asset class, in every country, and in any currency.

By combining highly-skilled product and engineering talent with seasoned finance professionals, we’re building the essentials to compete in today’s fast-paced markets.

About the role

The Director of Finance Systems owns the strategy, implementation, and ongoing operation of the systems that power Finance, Accounting, and adjacent workflows. This role partners closely with Accounting, FP&A, Treasury, Tax, Procurement, and cross-functional stakeholders in IT, Data, Security, and Engineering to ensure finance platforms are scalable, well-controlled, and automation-forward.

You will lead the finance systems roadmap, drive process improvement, and ensure strong governance across key platforms (such as ERP, consolidation, billing, procurement, expense, integrations, and reporting).

What you’ll do

Own the finance systems strategy and roadmap across ERP and the broader finance tech stack, including prioritization, resourcing, and delivery.

Lead implementations and upgrades (new modules, new tools, migrations, and major releases), including project plans, testing strategy, cutover, and post-go-live stabilization.

Run day-to-day operations for finance systems: user administration, configurations, workflows, issue triage, vendor management, and SLAs.

  • Manage vendors/consultants, including SOWs, budgets, delivery quality, and ongoing support relationships.
  • Build strong controls and governance for finance systems, including change management, segregation of duties, access reviews, audit support, and documentation.
  • Own integrations and data flows between finance systems and upstream/downstream tools (e.g., CRM, data warehouse, banking platforms, subledgers), partnering with Engineering/IT to ensure reliability and observability.
  • Enable reporting and analytics by improving master data, chart of accounts design, dimensionality, and data quality to support self-serve insights.
  • Lead and mentor a team, setting standards for delivery, documentation, and stakeholder communication.
  • Serve as a key business partner translating Finance requirements into system solutions, balancing speed, controls, and long-term scalability.

What we’re looking for

  • 10+ years of experience in finance systems, finance transformation, or related roles, including management experience.
  • Deep experience owning and administering our ERP NetSuite including close processes, reporting, customizations, and configuration.
  • Demonstrated success delivering complex, cross-functional systems initiatives (implementations, integrations, and process redesign).
  • Ability to write, edit, and troubleshoot SuiteScript based automations and integrations.
  • Strong understanding of finance and accounting processes (month-end close, revenue, AP, AR, fixed assets, intercompany, foreign currency, etc.).
  • Experience building SOX-ready controls and partnering with internal/external.
  • High comfort with data concepts (data models, reconciliations, reporting layers) and partnering with Data/Engineering teams.
  • Strong program management skills: holistic requirements, clear milestones, and stakeholder communication.
  • Ability to operate hands-on while also setting strategy and building scalable business processes.

Nice to have

  • Experience in fintech, broker-dealer, or other regulated environments.
  • Experience with consolidation, planning, workflow, procurement, and expense platforms.
  • Familiarity with Ramp, Concur, NetSuite Planning and Budgeting, Adaptive Planning, Workiva, FloQast, Zip, and/or Gappify.
  • Experience with consolidation/planning tools, billing/rev ops tooling, procurement, or expense platforms.
  • Experience building a finance systems function from earlier-stage growth through scale.
