Grand Mental Health is seeking a Director of Finance to lead the financial health and long-term sustainability of its operations. This on-site role sits at the intersection of strategy and day-to-day financial management within a healthcare setting. If you enjoy shaping the numbers that support patient care and organizational growth, this could be a strong fit for you. The company operates in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and the position is full-time, onsite, working with senior leadership and operational teams to drive informed decisions and responsible stewardship of resources.

The Director of Finance partners with executive leaders to evaluate financial performance, guide budgeting and forecasting, and ensure strong internal controls and compliance. You’ll play a pivotal role in planning and resource allocation, helping the organization navigate a complex financial landscape while enabling responsible growth and sustainability.

Ideal candidates are seasoned financial leaders with a solid grounding in healthcare or similarly regulated environments, deep GAAP knowledge, and comfort working across multiple entities and grants. If you relish turning data into strategy, building strong teams, and advancing robust financial processes, you’ll likely feel at home here.

Guiding the numbers in a healthcare setting

You’ll oversee the core cadence of financial planning, leading budgeting and forecasting processes in collaboration with senior leaders and department heads. Expect to monitor performance, analyze variances, and spot opportunities to improve efficiency and how resources are allocated across the organization.

Day-to-day operations include managing accounting activities such as the general ledger, accounts payable, reconciliations, and the month-end and year-end close. You’ll ensure financial statements and management reports are accurate and timely and that reporting practices stay consistent across applicable entities, all in line with GAAP.

In the area of controls and compliance, you’ll forecast cash flow, watch liquidity, and manage financial risk to keep the organization stable. Establishing and maintaining strong internal controls and policies will safeguard assets and ensure precise financial records, while coordinating annual audits and meeting grant and regulatory requirements.

Leadership of systems and people rounds out the role. You’ll oversee financial systems and reporting tools to improve accuracy and access to meaningful information, while developing finance and accounting staff through clear expectations and professional growth opportunities. You’ll also seek opportunities to standardize workflows and strengthen financial processes to boost overall effectiveness.

The essentials and the nice-to-haves

  • A degree in finance, accounting, business administration, or a related field
  • At least five years of progressive finance or accounting experience with leadership responsibilities, preferably in a healthcare setting
  • Solid knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, internal controls, and regulatory compliance
  • Experience with financial audits, grant accounting, and multi-entity financial reporting preferred
  • CPA, CMA, or other relevant professional certification preferred
  • Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills, with proficiency in financial management systems and Excel
  • Experience in healthcare finance and grant compliance across multiple entities is a plus
  • Background building and guiding finance teams, including development and performance management
  • Familiarity with nonprofit or grant-management software and ERP systems
  • Ability to translate complex financial data into clear guidance for non-financial leaders

Pay and the practical details

The role offers a salary range of $125,000.00 to $175,000.00 USD per year. It is a full-time, onsite position based in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

A few pointers for applicants

Lead with your degree and any healthcare finance experience on your résumé, and place similar or higher degrees near the top of the education section to catch attention early.

When you describe your background, show concrete examples of leadership in finance, especially five years or more of progressive responsibilities, and call out any GAAP work, budgeting, forecasting, internal controls, and regulatory compliance you’ve handled. If you’ve worked on audits, grant accounting, or multi-entity reporting, quantify the scope of that work where possible.

Prepare for interviews by detailing how you’ve collaborated with senior leaders to drive strategic decisions, what changes you implemented to improve efficiency, and how you approached risk management and internal controls in regulated settings.

Smart question to ask at the right moment: how do they balance multi-entity reporting with grant compliance, and what are the top priorities for the finance team in the first year? Asking to understand the organization’s approach to these critical areas will show you’ve thought about the role in a concrete way.
