Epassi is hiring a Director of Product - Sports to build and lead the sport product capability starting in Germany and expanding. You will own the Germany product, define the architecture and roadmap, and unify sport offerings into a scalable platform while preserving local strengths. This is a builder role not a coordinator; you will form a team, set tooling and operating standards, and own sport usage and GMV while collaborating with local markets. Ideal candidates have 10+ years in product, 5+ leading teams, direct sport network product experience, B2B2C and multi-market track record, English C1 and German C1 preferred. Tips: show measurable GMV growth, cross-market integration wins, a three-year vision with quarterly roadmaps, and examples of problem solving.

Are you interested in joining of Europe's fastest growing companies? Do you want to impact the wellbeing of millions of users?

If yes, join us to make an impact in a fast-paced and dynamic environment where you'll play a key role in driving product strategy, building high-performing teams, and enabling sustainable growth.

Epassi's purpose is to boost everyday wellbeing. We are a leading provider of employee benefit solutions across Europe. We were established in Finland in 2007, and in 2008 we were the first company to launch a mobile-payable employee benefit payment solution in Europe. Since then, we have consistently grown, diversifying our products and introducing our services into new markets.

Epassi has been awarded by the Financial Times as one of the fastest-growing companies in Europe on multiple occasions.

We are currently hiring a Director of Product - Sports to be based in Germany or another major Epassi market.

Your mission at Epassi

Epassi has built or acquired sport network products across multiple European markets. Today, they operate largely independently. Your mission is to change that — without losing what makes each of them win locally.

You will establish and lead Epassi's first global Sport Product capability: a function that sets the product vision, architecture, and quality bar across all sport products, while ensuring each market ships the right things for its users, employers, and network partners. You will start with Germany — our largest and most complex sport market — and expand from there.

This is not a coordination role. It is a builder role. You will own a roadmap, lead a growing team, and be held accountable for sport usage and GMV globally.

Your responsibilities will be:

Build the Global Sport Product capability

You are the founding leader of a function that does not yet exist at this scale. Define the team structure, hiring plan, tooling standards, and operating model. Establish the rituals, specs, and ways of working that allow a distributed sport product organisation to move fast without fragmenting.

Own the Germany product end-to-end

Germany is Epassi's anchor sport market. You take full product ownership: roadmap, prioritisation, delivery, and outcomes. You work directly with Hansefit and related German operations to align commercial needs with product reality. Your success in Germany is the proof of concept for the global model.

Integrate and unify sport products across markets

Epassi's sport portfolio includes distinct products built for different markets and networks. Your job is to find the integration strategy: what should be common platform, what should be market-configurable, and what should stay local. You design the architecture of convergence and execute it without disrupting live operations.

Interface with local and global product teams

You are a node in a wider product organisation. You work closely with local commercial and product teams in each market, and with global product units — including Foundation — to align on platform dependencies, shared infrastructure, and integration timelines. You drive alignment without waiting for it to be handed to you.

Define and deliver against global sport KPIs

Your primary metrics are sport usage and GMV across the portfolio. You define the measurement framework, track it rigorously, and make the connection between product decisions and business outcomes visible to the organisation.

You'll be successful in this role if you:

  • Build a functioning Global Sport Product team: hired, embedded, and operating within the first two quarters
  • Own and ship the Germany sport product roadmap, tracking toward GMV and usage targets
  • Set a clear integration roadmap for sport products across markets: sequenced, resourced, and moving
  • Establish a monthly cadence of product performance reporting against sport usage and GMV, visible at Group level
  • Build a model other verticals want to replicate

What you should bring (experience that is non-negotiable):

  • 10+ years in product management, with at least 5 years leading product organisations of 10+ people
  • Direct experience with sport or fitness network products — you know how Hansefit, Wellpass, or equivalent networks operate commercially and technically; you are not learning this domain on the job
  • B2B or employee benefits background — you understand how employers buy, what HR and procurement care about, and how to build products in a B2B2C model
  • Cross-country or multi-market product experience — you have shipped and scaled products across more than one country and understand what that complexity actually costs

The profile we are looking for:

  • Data-driven to your core. You define success criteria before you build and track outcomes systematically. Your KPIs are not shipped features — they are usage rates, activation metrics, and revenue impact.
  • Vision and execution in equal measure. You can present a compelling three-year sport product vision and then break it into a credible quarter-by-quarter roadmap. You do both.
  • Builder, not bureaucrat. You build teams and capabilities from scratch. You are energised by ambiguity, not slowed by it.
  • Commercially sharp. You understand GMV, margin, and network economics. You make product decisions that move the business, not just the product.
  • Fluent across cultures. You navigate local market expectations, global stakeholders, and matrix organisations without losing momentum.

Your language profile:

  • English C1/C2 required. German C1 strongly preferred as Germany is your starting market and you will work directly with local teams, operators, and partners.

Your track record:

  • You have led product organisations through market expansion before and not just shipped features in a single market. You have taken a complex, multi-stakeholder product and made it better without blowing up what already works.
  • You have integrated acquired products into a broader platform and can speak to what you learned.
  • You have managed PMs, not just projects, and can point to people in your team who grew because of how you led.

Your competency profile:

(Sport) Domain authority: You have operated in sport network, fitness vertical products or three/two-sided platforms. You understand the network model, the employer-employee-network triangle, and what levers actually drive usage.

Global product thinking: You design for reuse and configurability by default. Germany ships first; the next market should cost a fraction of the first to onboard.

Outcome orientation: You define measurement frameworks before you build roadmaps. Every initiative has a hypothesis, a metric, and a review date.

Team builder: You hire well, develop your reports, and create an environment where PMs do their best work. You have a track record of building high-performing product organizations, not just managing them.

Cross-functional leadership: You work effectively with commercial, engineering, data, and operations teams across multiple countries without needing formal authority to move things forward.

AI-native working style: You use Claude, Claude Code, or equivalent tools actively in your daily work. This is a working standard in our organization.
