CRH is seeking a pragmatic, hands-on Director of SAP PMO for the Americas Materials division, onsite in Atlanta. You’ll run a unified PMO across transformation, enhancements, and production support with four disciplines: Delivery & Project Management, Testing, Cutover & Deployment, and Change Management, owning the integrated plan, schedule, testing strategy, and deployment readiness. You will develop a capable team, balance governance with practicality, align SAP, IT, data and business to one plan, and be accountable for scope, timeline, budget and quality. Requirements include 15+ years in SAP with hands-on S/4HANA, proven SAP transformations, and experience across SAP and non-SAP portfolios; building products familiarity preferred. Apply with metric-driven examples of go-lives and readiness, and show you can lead onsite in Atlanta.

Job ID:  525896

CRH's Americas Materials division is the leading integrated supplier of aggregates, asphalt, ready mixed concrete and paving and construction services in North America. Our operations span North America with over 29,000 employees at close to 1,660 locations in 45 US States and 2 Canadian provinces.

Position Overview

We need a pragmatic, hands-on PMO leader who has actually driven SAP programs and someone who can bring a roomful of competing groups to a plan everyone will commit to, run the delivery machine across transformation and the day-to-day, and make the call when it counts, and not a textbook program manager who runs the methodology and not the work.

You run the PMO across the full portfolio and the active SAP transformation, ongoing enhancement work, and production support and with four disciplines under you: Delivery & Project Management, Testing, Cutover & Deployment, and Change Management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own delivery across transformation, enhancement, and support one PMO that keeps all three moving without letting “run” get starved by the big program.
  • Lead and develop the PM team. Set a consistent, fit-for-purpose way of working and enough governance to keep things on the rails, not so much that it becomes overhead nobody respects.
  • Own the integrated plan and timeline. Drive the schedule and deployment strategy with SAP, legacy IT, data, and business performance so the dates are real and the dependencies are managed.
  • Own test strategy and execution across SIT, UAT, and regression, with clear entry/exit criteria, disciplined defect management, and honest readiness calls.
  • Own cutover and deployment: cutover planning, mock cutovers, command center, and go/no-go decisions you can stand behind on the day.
  • Drive change management and adoption across releases in partnership with the business, so delivery translates into people actually using what was built.
  • Bring people together. This is core to the job, and you will spend real time aligning SAP, IT, data, and the business and getting them to a single plan they’ll commit to.
  • Be accountable for the outcomes: scope, timeline, budget, quality, readiness, and a clean deployment.

Qualifications

  • 15+ years of experience in SAP, spanning both senior leadership roles and hands-on delivery roles and you have led teams and have personally done the work.
  • Demonstrated success implementing SAP through SAP-led transformations, ideally across multiple full lifecycle programs.
  • Hands-on S/4HANA experience is required; experience in the building products industry (or closely adjacent manufacturing/distribution sectors) is strongly preferred.
  • Track record leading teams that simultaneously deliver projects, enhancements, and support.
  • Experience overseeing a broad application portfolio that includes SAP Commerce Cloud, SuccessFactors, and Concur, plus integrated non-SAP applications (e.g., Coupa, Vertex, Apex).
  • SAP value stream leaders and teams: plan, sequence, and deliver the work
  • Legacy IT and Integration: manage dependencies, interfaces, and the realities of the current landscape
  • Data: to keep migration, readiness, and validation on the critical path, not an afterthought
  • Business Performance: align timeline and deployment strategy with what the business can absorb and measure

Education/Experience

  • Proven, hands-on experience leading the PMO / delivery for SAP programs, you’ve driven the plan, the testing, and the cutover, not just reported on them.
  • Real ownership of testing, cutover, and deployment on SAP go-lives and you know what readiness actually looks like and what a clean cutover takes.
  • Experience running delivery across a transformation while also keeping enhancement and support on track.
  • A clear track record of bringing people together and aligning SAP, IT, data, and the business around one plan they’ll commit to.
  • Strong command of timeline, dependency, and deployment strategy across multiple teams.
  • A bias toward pragmatic, fit-for-purpose governance over heavy process for its own sake.
  • Experience leading and developing project managers.
  • Experience in the building products industry or a comparable manufacturing / construction-heavy environment.
  • Experience coordinating data migration and legacy integration workstreams on a major SAP program.
  • This is an Atlanta-based role.
