Distribution & Alliance Marketing Manager, APJ

The Role

As the Distribution & Alliance Marketing Manager for APJ, you will bridge the gap between global strategy and regional execution, ensuring our Distributors and Key Technology Alliances are fully integrated into our go-to-market strategy. In this high-impact overlay role you will be responsible for building a predictable, high-quality Net New Logo (NNL) pipeline engine by aligning Pure’s marketing strategy with the objectives of both the Field Marketing and Channel Sales organizations. This role requires a blend of creative program design, analytical rigor, and the ability to influence stakeholders across a complex, multi-national landscape. You will report into the Director, International Partner Marketing.

Key Responsibilities

1. Strategic Distribution Growth

  • Pipeline Engineering: Design and deploy SMART MDF programs specifically tailored to Distributors to maximize NNL pipeline creation. Co-develop and support execution of (bi)-annual integrated marketing plans for a focused portfolio of key Distributors.
  • Regional Interlock: Act as a strategic bridge between Field Marketing and Partner/Distribution Account Managers. You will oversee the end-to-end planning, execution, and lead-follow-up process across the APJ theater, leveraging our MarTech stack (Salesforce, Tableau, Appsheet, Allocadia, and NetSuite).
  • Relationship Management: Build deep, synergistic relationships with focus Distributors. You will guide local teams in designing joint campaigns, ensuring rigorous tracking and maximizing ROI on all collective investments.
  • Global-Regional Liaison: Collaborate with the Global Partner & Alliances Marketing team to localize corporate programs, ensuring global initiatives are effectively communicated and executed within the specific cultural and business contexts of APJ.

2. Alliance GTM Excellence

  • Interlock & Execution: Deepen marketing synergy with a subset of Key Technology Alliances. Work closely with regional Field Marketing Managers to ensure alliance-led activities are not siloed but integrated into broader territory plans.
  • Orchestrate co-marketing efforts with Distributors and Technology Alliances (e.g., Cisco, NVIDIA, Nutanix, …) to create "better together" stories that strengthen Pure’s market positioning.
  • Joint Value Proposition: Translate global alliance messaging into localized APJ success stories that truly resonate in theatre.
  • Ecosystem Expansion: Identify opportunities for “Meet in the Channel" marketing (Pure + Distributor + Alliance Partner) to increase reach and credibility.

      3. Field Presence & Relationship Management

  • Regional Field Synergy: Operates as a strategic overlay to regional Field Marketing Managers, leveraging their market expertise, collaborating as one team, ensuring all joint initiatives are seamlessly executed and deliver measurable business outcomes.
  • Be the "Voice of the Distributor": Act as a critical feedback loop between Field Marketing, Distributors and Global Marketing, ensuring that localized market requirements and distributor needs are reflected in global campaign development.
  • Channel Sales Integration: Foster deep-rooted relationships with the Channel Sales organization to ensure marketing initiatives are "sales-ready" and directly contribute to overall motivation and preference.
  • On-the-Ground Advocacy: Represent Everpure at key events, summits, and planning sessions, serving as a brand evangelist and subject matter expert on Pure’s marketing programs, campaigns and playbooks.

4. Governance & Insights

  • MDF & KPI Support: Ensure the health of regional budgets and program impact through rigorous, collaborative tracking of MDF and KPIs in lockstep with Field Marketing requirements.
  • Strategic Guidance: Serve as a data-driven consultant for internal stakeholders, providing the insights necessary to optimize Field Marketing strategies and ensure global programs translate into local success.

Required Experience & Skills

  • Experience: 6+ years in B2B Channel or Partner Marketing, specifically within the High-Tech/SaaS/Infrastructure sector.
  • Expert at leading by influence; able to gain buy-in from regional Field Marketing teams and distributor stakeholders without direct reporting authority to ensure seamless program adoption and execution.
  • Demonstrates exceptional collaborative agility, with a proven track record of coordinating across diverse teams to ensure unified execution and shared success.
  • Regional Expertise: Proven track record of managing marketing across diverse APJ markets (e.g., ASEAN, ANZ, India, Japan, Korea).
  • Language Skills: Fluency in English is required. Professional proficiency in a secondary language is highly preferred. 
  • High Mobility: Willingness to travel up to 20%
  • MDF Governance: Expert-level knowledge of MDF management, ensuring compliance and maximizing ROI.
  • MarTech Stack: Proficiency with Salesforce and PRM platforms. Experience with Tableau or similar BI tools for pipeline reporting is a major plus.
  • Negotiation: Strong ability to influence distributor or alliance executives and gain "unfair share" of their mindshare and marketing budget.
  • Strategic Acumen: Ability to translate vision & strategy into business outcomes for annual marketing plans and executive summaries.
