You’ll handle general repairs, painting and touch-ups, basic carpentry and plumbing, preventive maintenance, and refurbishment support, plus responding to internal requests and keeping grounds and equipment in good order. The right candidate is hardworking, comfortable with basic tools, able to work independently or with a team, organized and positive in a busy hotel setting, and available across a 7 day roster. About the Role
As a Duty Technician, you will support the Engineering team with the day-to-day maintenance and upkeep of the hotels, guest rooms and facilities.
Your responsibilities will include:
Assisting with general maintenance and repairs throughout the hotels
Painting and touch-up work in guest rooms and public areas
Basic carpentry, plumbing and general handyman tasks
Assisting with preventative maintenance programmes
Responding to maintenance requests from hotel departments
Helping maintain resort grounds, facilities and equipment
Supporting the team with room maintenance and refurbishment projects
Ensuring work areas are kept clean, safe and organised
Providing friendly and professional service to guests and colleagues when completing maintenance work
Assisting with other Engineering duties as required
About You
We are looking for someone who is:
Practical, reliable and hardworking
Comfortable using basic tools and equipment
Confident completing general maintenance and painting tasks
Able to work independently but also as part of a team
A good problem solver with a positive attitude
Organised and able to prioritise work
Comfortable working around guests and in a busy hotel environment
Physically capable of undertaking the requirements of the role
Available to work across a 7-day operation, including weekends and public holidays as required
Previous hotel, building, maintenance or trades experience would be an advantage, but we are willing to train the right person.
