The Animal Referral Hospital in Wollongong is looking for ECC Vet Nurses to join our close-knit team that is dedicated to the best possible patient outcomes.

Animal Referral Hospital Wollongong is a well-established small animal emergency hospital, we provide emergency and overnight care for the entire Illawarra region and pride ourselves on offering the highest standard of patient care.

Our recently revamped space is worth shouting out, including:

  • A total of nine consult rooms, with the addition of five new ones
  • Three state-of-the-art surgical theatres, with two more added to the lineup
  • Purpose-built areas for dental care, ultrasound, and endoscopy
  • A shiny new reception area, complete with a cat-friendly waiting zone!

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Provide nursing care to critically ill and injured patients 
  • Collaborate with our skilled veterinary team to deliver timely and effective emergency treatments
  • Monitor patients closely, administer medications, and assist with medical procedures as needed
  • Maintain accurate medical records and ensure compliance with hospital protocols
  • Offer support and guidance to pet owners during stressful situations

Our ideal candidate will have:

  • Cert IV in Veterinary Nursing or equivalent
  • Previous experience with complex emergency cases
  • Ability to provide high-quality patient care even in busy conditions
  • Strong communication skills
  • Friendly, team player attitude
  • Flexibility to work across days, evenings, overnight, weekends, and public holidays as part of a rotating roster
  • A passion for continuous education and upskilling
  • Strong attention to detail with ability to multitask
