The Education Support Traineeship at AGA is a part-time, 12‑month program with 30 hours per week while you complete training blocks in school holidays. About the role

Working within a specialist primary school located in Melbourne’s North, this role will see the successful candidate working Parttime, Monday to Friday (30hrs per week) whilst completing a 12-month traineeship in Education Support.

Working across two campuses, the successful candidate will work within a specialist developmental School that is a Victorian Government school for students aged between 5 and 18 years with an intellectual disability in the moderate to profound range.

What you will be doing

• Complete training blocks within the school holidays
• Support teachers in planning lessons and daily classroom activities
• Provide one-on-one or small group academic help to students
• Assist students who need extra emotional & physical support
• Help manage student behavior in line with school policies
• Other tasks as directed

What we are looking for

• Great communication, engaging personality and people skills
• Patience, compassion and the ability to stay calm under pressure
• Capable of providing physical and emotional support to students
• Passionate about education and completing a Cert III in Education Support
• Ability to complete training blocks within school holidays
• Current Working with Children’s Check or willing to obtain
• Willing to complete two-day volunteer trail
