Job Summary

 

The EHS Manager is responsible for creating and implementing safety programs to ensure occupationally safe workplace environments for the purpose of preserving worker health and safety as well as compliance with federal and state safety regulations. Drives the “Safety First” Culture. This individual has responsibility for environmental oversight of the facility.

 

Job Location

 

  • This is an onsite role based in Egg Harbor City, NJ 

 

Job Responsibilities

 

  • Establishes safety, environmental, and health programs, policies and procedures designed to promote worker health and safety as well as ensures compliance with applicable regulations
  • Manages Safety Supervisor and Safety Coordinator roles
  • Maintains Safety Related Records OSHA 300 Log, OSHA 300A Forms, Training Documents, and Accident/Incident Investigations
  • Coordinates site requirements for Compliance Management tasks
  • Coordinates and ensures all annual compliance training is complete
  • Ensures all SDSs are maintained and up to date for the facility
  • Works with the organization’s management team to evaluate and to enforce policy conformance
  • Identifies health and safety hazards
  • Recommends ways to improve health and safety in the workplace. Presents reports and suggestions for improvement to the management team
  • Evaluates site processes and equipment to determine controls needed to keep workers safe. Safety measures may include engineering controls, such as barriers, Machine Guarding, ventilation, and personal protective equipment or special procedures
  • Helps develop JHA/JSAs for high hazard job tasks
  • Responds to on-site emergencies, Incidents, and Injuries
  • Completes accident or Incident Investigations with Supervisors and Managers to determine a root cause
  • Ensures Workers Compensation and General Liability Claims are submitted to insurance agency in a timely manner
  • Compiles statistics and publishes reports for regulators and for company management. The EHS manager uses this information to identify injury trends and to implement programs to improve accident statistics

 

Job Requirements

 

  • Bachelor’s degree with concentration in business or other related discipline
  • A minimum of five years of experience in a safety management role within a manufacturing or operations setting
  • Demonstrated understanding of workflow creation (policy into training and sustainment)
  • Strong understanding of OSHA, NFPA, ANSI Niosh, NJ DEP, and other compliance regulations
  • Ability to work independently
  • Experience with EHS Suite software, PowerPoint, Excel, and other computer-based programs required
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including public speaking and presentation
  • General understanding of federal, state and city safety requirements, including OSHA. OSHA certifications preferred
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities to meet deadlines
  • Bi-lingual Spanish is preferred

 

Compensation

 

  • Base Salary is $100,000 - $115,000
  • 120 Hours PTO
  • Bonus is 10%
