We are looking for dedicated EH&  Support to join our QEHS team on an 18-month fixed term contract. In this role, you will be the on-the-ground champion of health, safety, and environmental excellence across our power station projects. Your work will directly protect people and ensure our operations meet the highest standards.

 

Summary of what you will do

 

  • Monitor and improve EHS performance across site-based activities, ensuring full compliance with statutory, regulatory, and company standards.
  • Conduct daily EHS patrols and behavioural safety observations on contractors, providing feedback and recording any deviations from agreed practices.
  • Verify that contractors work to approved RAMS, safety documents, lift plans, and hot work assessments at the point of work.
  • Facilitate site inductions for contract staff and visitors, and deliver training on FHC Safety Rules.
  • Check that CDM zones are enforced, inductions take place, and entry registers are completed accurately.
  • Support accident and event investigations, ensuring all incidents are reported in the management system.
  • Contribute to a positive EHS culture by promoting safe working practices and sharing best practice across the organisation.

 

What you will bring to the role

 

  • IOSH Managing Safely certification (essential); HNC, IEMA certificate, or Behavioural Safety Observer qualification (desirable).
  • Knowledge and experience of working at power stations or similar industrial environments.
  • Strong understanding of key EHS legislation and its practical application on site.
  • Ability to identify incorrect working practices and confidently challenge teams to maintain standards.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and build productive relationships with contractors and stakeholders.
  • Self-motivated, results-oriented, and comfortable working on a 24-hour rota basis.
  • Excellent IT skills and experience working within business processes and document management systems.

 

Location

 

This is an on-site role based at our power station facility at Dinorwig in Llanberis. The position includes 24-hour site EHS supervision on a rota basis.
