Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 2 years of experience working in an electronics or embedded systems design technical environment, or 1 year of experience with an advanced degree.
  • Ability to travel internationally up to 20% as required.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's or PhD degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, or a related field.
  • 5 years of experience in consumer electronics design.
  • Experience designing high speed digital systems.
  • Experience with mobile SoC design.
  • Experience with: embedded systems, various communication protocols (especially USB, SPI, I2C, I3C, PCIE, UART, MIPI, DSI), analog design, low power design, Cadence/Allegro.
  • Enjoy being in the lab (soldering, oscilloscopes, data acquisition) and want to be in the details.

Responsibilities

  • Enable Google's future products by contributing to platform architecture definition, electrical schematic design, and prototype validation.
  • Work with all cross-functional teams (software, factory test, signal integrity, ECAD, product design, program management, etc.) to design, implement, and deliver prototype hardware to enable development activities.
  • Plan and execute bring-up and validation of development hardware designs including functional verification, signal characterization, and power validation activities.
  • Bring designs to production by defining factory test requirements, resolving build and test issues, assisting in software bring-up and debug, and working onsite with the manufacturer (if needed).
