We are currently seeking qualified Electrical Foreman/Foreperson to join our on-site Construction team, for a 2 to 3 month project, based out of a remote camp location near Fort MacKay, Alberta. This position offers the opportunity to participate in construction on the Imperial Oil (IOL) Kearl Lake Sodium Citrate Injection Process System. The shift is planned to be 21 days on and 7 days off rotation, 10-hour days. While the preference is to hire candidates who resides locally, fly-in, fly-out from Edmonton, Alberta or Calgary, Alberta will be available based on eligibility.

Hourly rate: $61.62/hr.

Job Description

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Perform all duties in a safe and efficient manner in accordance with applicable legislation, policies, and procedures
  • Provide leadership, supervision, and direction to electrical crews on site, ensuring work is completed safely, on schedule, and to quality standards
  • Coordinate daily work activities, manpower, and resources to meet project requirements
  • Provide technical knowledge and guidance on electrical and/or instrumentation equipment and systems
  • Ensure proper interpretation and execution of electrical drawings, specifications, and work packages
  • Provide direction in establishing electrical and instrumentation requirements for existing and new facilities
  • Review and support approval of electrical and/or instrumentation design documents (drawings, specifications, data sheets, etc.)
  • Review electrical, instrumentation, and construction work packages to ensure completeness and constructability
  • Support and oversee installation, testing, commissioning, and start-up activities for electrical systems in the field
  • Troubleshoot and resolve field issues, providing guidance to crews and coordinating with engineering as required
  • Maintain ongoing communication with project management, engineering, and other trades
  • Support ongoing operations post-commissioning as required
  • Other duties as required

Qualifications

  • Journeyman Electrician certification required
  • Previous foreman or supervisory experience leading electrical crews in industrial environments
  • Strong technical knowledge and proven experience in electrical and/or instrumentation systems
  • Experience with Heat Trace systems
  • Experience in an industrial or oil & gas setting required
  • Knowledge and experience in industrial construction (asset)
  • Strong leadership, planning, and team coordination skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills across all levels of a project organization
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, and work packages
  • WHMIS, Incident Investigation and Wildlife Awareness would be considered an asset

Required Tickets:

  • First Aid (Intermediate), Confined Space Entry, Aerial Work Platform (AWP), and Fall Arrest Certification

As part of the recruitment process, successful clearance of applicable pre-employment checks is required which may include Criminal Background/Police Information check, Drug & Alcohol test, Reference checks as well as submittal of Provincial Driver’s Abstract.
