Embedded Developer at Momo Medical in Delft seeks a hands-on firmware engineer to design and optimize microcontroller software powering BedSense and calibration tools, joining the SeSu team to prototype and ship products. You’ll develop firmware for current and next generation devices, build internal production tools, and scale a fleet of over 50,000 devices while collaborating across disciplines. Requirements: 3+ years in C/C++, some Python, real microcontroller experience; ESP32 or PCB design a plus; interest in 3D CAD. Proactive, adaptable, and a strong communicator, available 32 to 40 hours weekly in a hybrid Delft setup with 30 days holiday. To apply, tailor your CV to embedded projects, production tooling, and cloud work with Node.js/TypeScript and AWS, show impact and fast learning.

Do you spend your spare time hacking away on microcontrollers? Do you love bringing physical hardware to life with clean, efficient code and occasionally let out some magic smoke?

At Momo Medical, your passion projects become real-world solutions. As our new Embedded Developer, you’ll write the firmware that powers devices used daily by healthcare professionals (like our BedSense) as well as the custom calibration tools our production team uses to build them.

Meet the SeSu team

You’ll be joining our SeSu (Sensor Superstars) team—a tight-knit, cross-functional crew of UX designers, CAD designers, PCB designers, and software developers. Because we have all this expertise in one room, we can bounce ideas around, prototype rapidly, and ship amazing new products faster than your average scale-up. No endless corporate layers here; we design, build, and test together.

Who is Momo?

Momo Medical is a fast-growing and ambitious scale-up in Delft that focuses on one of society's biggest challenges: the future of (elderly) care. In the next 10 years, the demand for care will double, while 30% of the current workforce will retire. With our innovative solutions, we want to both reduce the pressure on caregivers and improve the quality of care. In short, we want to improve the quality of life for nursing home residents and increase the job satisfaction of caregivers.

What you’ll be doing

  • Develop & Optimize: Design and refine firmware for our microcontrollers and smart devices.

  • Innovate: Write software for both our current lineup and next-generation products, keeping everything seamlessly integrated.

  • Scale Production: Build the software for our internal production tools, like calibration machines, incoming testers, and automated inspection systems, helping our manufacturing team scale smoothly.

  • Maintain the Fleet: Help manage and update our rapidly growing fleet of over 50,000 active devices in the field, ensuring they stay secure and compatible.

  • Collaborate: Chat with other teams to understand their workflows and find out how your software can make their jobs easier.

These are your responsibilities

  • You genuinely enjoy writing clean, well-structured, and reliable code.

  • You have solid experience with C and C++. Don’t get scared if you see some Python too.

  • You have a proven track record working with microcontrollers.

  • If you’ve tinkered with ESP32s or have some hands-on experience with PCB design, that’s a massive plus.

  • An affinity for 3D design / CAD is a nice bonus.

  • You are proactive, adaptable, and comfortable giving and receiving honest feedback to build better tech.

Who are you?

You are enthusiastic and driven to make a difference for caregivers. You have experience (3+ years) in Node.js, strong knowledge of JavaScript, TypeScript (or any other backend technology), and experience with Cloud (AWS).

  • Strengths: proactive, curious, fast learner, adaptive

  • Good communication skills.

  • Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-decipline team environment.

  • Available for a minimum of 32 hours per week.

  • Ask questions

  • And don’t worry, even if you don’t check every box on the list, what matters the most to us is you can learn it quickly.

This is why you want to work at Momo

  • Salary: €3,000 - €5,000 gross per month (based on 40 hours), depending on your experience, plus an 8% holiday allowance.

  • Hours: 32 to 40 hours a week—whatever fits your life best.

  • Flexibility: A hybrid work setup, with at least 3 days a week at our Delft office so you can easily build, test, and mess around with physical prototypes.

  • Tools: A laptop of your choice.

  • Time Off: 30 vacation days per year (including public holidays). We value inclusivity, so you are welcome to swap standard public holidays to celebrate the days that matter to you (Christmas, Eid Al-Fitr, Hanukkah, etc.).

  • Growth: Room to carve out your own path. Want to grow into a team lead role? We’ll support you. Prefer to dive deep and remain a technical specialist? We love that too.
