Roles in this team are crucial for ensuring the safety, reliability, and efficiency of engineering projects and will typically support one or more of the following specialist areas. This role will have dual responsibilities: technical integrity management and support as a project engineer, as outlined below. The balance between these responsibilities will be adjusted as per actual project requirements.
Integrity Management (IM):
- Asset Integrity Management: Developing and implementing integrity management strategies for pipelines and process facilities, including Risk-Based Inspection (RBI), Non-Destructive Testing (NDT), and written schemes of inspection.
- Integrity Software: Specifying, implementing, and supporting asset performance management software configuration and implementation.
- Fitness-for-Service (FFS): Providing expert advice and assessments around fitness-for-purpose assessment of pressure systems including re-rating and de-rating.
Project Engineering:
- Provide day-to-day support to the Project Manager in planning, coordinating, and executing project activities to ensure delivery within scope, schedule, and budget.
- Monitor project progress, track key milestones, and support reporting by preparing status updates, risk logs, and performance metrics.
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure effective communication and timely resolution of technical and commercial issues.
- Assist in document control, compliance with project procedures, standards, and client requirements.
The key high-level aspects of the role are as follows:
- A competent team member with typically two to four years of progressively more responsible pertinent experience.
- Contributes to the successful completion of integrity engineering workscopes and consultancy services as directed by immediate supervisor.
- Assists in the development of integrity engineering deliverables.
- Performs routine aspects of integrity engineering assignments and collaborates with experienced technical professionals for non-routine aspects.
- Solves problems of a routine nature within clearly defined procedures.
Executes assigned scope of work.
- Produces basic integrity engineering deliverables such as philosophies, reports, specifications, data sheets and others.
- Performs a variety of conventional engineering tasks in line with integrity discipline practices, procedures and programs.
- Solves problems using a variety of standard methods, applying standard techniques involving only minor innovations of methodology to provide solutions to problems with a limited number of variables.
- Participates with drafters, technicians, and others to contribute to project completion.
- Coordinates work with other engineers and operating groups.
- Researches problems through various sources of technical information.
- Makes recommendations on the acceptability of integrity supplied and work completed by contractors.
- Responsible for studies of limited scope requiring application of prescribed methods.
- Problems involves existing technology and applications, but may involve non-recurring problems.
- Demonstrates judgement in determining the methods to apply to assigned tasks.
- Makes limited changes to meet location conditions, new situations or to improve safety, economy, efficiency or applicability.
- Note-taking and active participation in design reviews.
- Review vendor documents under supervision and guidance.

Business and Industry Experience
- Typically requires two to four years of progressively more responsible pertinent experience.
- Ability to create functional and cost effective designs that meet specification and requirements with supervision.
- Some capability for conceptualizing designs.
- Proficient in use of design software and Database systems related to Engineering functions within their discipline.
- Ability to comprehend and interpret technical information applicable to the integrity engineering discipline.
- Able to apply academic theory in a practical context.
- Awareness of standards, processes and procedures and how they are used in work execution.
- Developing level of knowledge of regulatory framework and associated legislation.
- Developing level of knowledge of industry and technology development within discipline area.
- Working knowledge of specific procedures and applications.
- Some understanding of internal economic factors affecting projects to which assigned.
- Some knowledge of competitor capabilities.
- Solid understanding of policies and procedures that apply to assignments.
- Good level of general computer literacy and familiarity with relevant specialist engineering software.
- Basic knowledge and competency in project management principles and practices.
- ISCED Level 6 Bachelors (minimum) or Level 7 Masters (preferred) Degree in engineering discipline, alternatively, tertiary level education combined with suitable industry experience can be used to demonstrate equivalence.
- Working towards Chartership or relevant professional engineer status accredited by a national or industry engineering institution.
- Demonstratable initial CPD record showing examples of technical and consulting development
