The role focuses on guiding a results-driven team, overseeing technical deliverables, coordinating project schedules and budgets, and maintaining strong project controls while aligning with provincial strategy and safety. You will develop staff, mentor teams, and present to executives. Requirements include an engineering degree or equivalent, seven years in nuclear, proven leadership, and the ability to obtain CSIS Level 1 clearance. The Manager is accountable to provide leadership and direction to results‑driven teams and is accountable for maximizing staff development, performance, and engagement in alignment with departmental and corporate objectives. As a member of SaskPower’s management team, this role manages the engineering activities required to support the licensing, design, and development of the Small Modular Reactor (SMR) program. Responsibilities include overseeing technical engineering deliverables, coordinating project management and scheduling from an engineering perspective, ensuring robust project controls, and fostering productive vendor relationships and partnerships to advance SMR engineering objectives.
The position supports informed decision‑making and negotiations while ensuring alignment with SaskPower’s expectations and provincial government strategic direction related to nuclear development.
