Job Description

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Engineering Coordinator to join our team in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. As an Engineering Coordinator, you will play a crucial role in supporting our engineering department's daily operations, ensuring smooth communication between various teams, and maintaining efficient project management processes.

  • Coordinate internal and external correspondence, including managing incoming mail and appointment schedules for the Head of Department
  • Organize and maintain daily, weekly, and monthly reports, including quality control reports, maintenance requests, and incident reports
  • Monitor and manage maintenance contracts, ensuring timely renewals
  • Track equipment warranties and keep records up-to-date
  • Prepare purchase order requests for the engineering department
  • Manage petty cash according to company procedures
  • Oversee the execution and reporting of preventative maintenance programs
  • Collaborate closely with the housekeeping department to address facility-related issues
  • Utilize OPERA PMS and other relevant software systems for work order management and reporting
  • Maintain an organized and efficient filing system, both manual and electronic
  • Log and track guest complaints, ensuring proper communication with hotel management
  • Assist in coordinating engineering projects and initiatives across the property
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations
  • Provide support in preparing engineering-related reports and presentations for management

Qualifications

  • College diploma in Hotel Management, Engineering, or a related field
  • Minimum of two years of experience in a hotel engineering department or similar role
  • Strong understanding of hotel operations and priorities across various departments
  • Excellent computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and property management systems (e.g., OPERA PMS)
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with team members, management, and guests
  • Proven organizational and time management skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Detail-oriented approach to work, with a focus on accuracy and efficiency
  • Basic knowledge of engineering principles and practices related to building maintenance and operations
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documents and blueprints
  • Experience in project coordination and management
  • Familiarity with health, safety, and environmental regulations in the hospitality industry
  • Fluency in English; knowledge of Arabic or other languages is a plus
  • Flexibility to work in a dynamic environment with changing priorities
