Engineering Student

We're looking for an Engineering Co-op Student to join our Athabasca Oriented-Strand Board division, located in Slave Lake, Alberta. This state-of-the-art facility has the longest continuous press In North America, giving us the ability to produce a diverse range of innovative forest products such as Laminated Strand Lumber (LSL) and Engineered Wood Products (EWP) for customers around the world. 

Our ideal candidate has the following qualifications: 

  • Current enrollment in an Engineering or Wood Science program.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Mechanical aptitude and understanding of machines.
  • A passion for technology and innovation.
  • Strong organizationalanalytical, and report-writing skills.
  • Ability to work independently and use own resources to find innovative solutions to new problems.

In this role, you will:

  • Support the Scientific Research and Experimental Development (SR&ED) program.
  • Generate data showing long-term trends.
  • Standardize data collection across our SBB mills.
  • Be driven to find solutions and ways to improve processes.
  • Be responsible for recommending methods to improve safety, quality, throughput, and uptime, and will provide support to the technical team.
  • Have opportunities to work with numerous departments across the mill.
