We are currently seeking an experienced and hands-on Engineering Supervisor to join our Wellington engineering team, supporting the maintenance and operational excellence of our hotel portfolio.

Job Description

Reporting to the Chief Engineer, you will play a key role in the day-to-day management of engineering operations, supporting the maintenance team and ensuring our hotels are maintained to the highest standards.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Supervising and supporting the Engineering team during your shift
  • Coordinating and carrying out preventative and corrective maintenance programs
  • Responding to maintenance requests in a timely and professional manner
  • Assisting with contractor management and ensuring work is completed to required standards
  • Monitoring essential building services, plant equipment and safety systems
  • Conducting routine testing of fire alarms, emergency lighting and compliance-related equipment
  • Assisting with energy efficiency and sustainability initiatives
  • Supporting roster preparation and team development activities
  • Maintaining accurate maintenance records and compliance documentation
  • Ensuring all work is completed in accordance with Health & Safety requirements and Accor standards
  • Providing exceptional service when interacting with guests and internal stakeholders

This role will require flexibility and participation in an on-call roster to support emergency maintenance requirements when needed.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

  • A recognised trade qualification in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
  • Previous experience in a maintenance leadership or supervisory role, ideally within hospitality, facilities management, or a large multi-site operation
  • Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills
  • Experience managing contractors and maintenance priorities
  • Sound knowledge of building services, compliance requirements and safety systems
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities
  • A proactive, hands-on approach with strong attention to detail
  • The ability to lead and motivate a diverse team
  • Flexibility to work a variety of shifts and respond to urgent maintenance issues when required
