Job Description:

As an English Language Teacher at ICS Khalifa City, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality English Language Arts instruction to students in Cycle 2 (Grades 6-8) and Cycle 3 (Grades 9-10). You will inspire a love for language and literature, develop critical thinking skills, and prepare students for future academic success within an American educational framework.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, prepare, and deliver engaging English Language Arts lessons aligned with the American curriculum.

  • Assess, monitor, and report on student progress, providing constructive feedback.

  • Create a positive, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment.

  • Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and school leadership to support student development and well-being.

  • Actively participate in school events, professional development, and extracurricular activities.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in English, Literature, Linguistics, or a closely related field from an accredited university.

  • Master's degree in Education, English, or a relevant subject area is highly preferred.

  • Valid teaching license or Teaching Diploma.

Experience Requirements:

  • Minimum of 4 years of full-time teaching experience in English Language Arts at the Cycle 2 (Grades 6-8) and/or Cycle 3 (Grades 9-10) level.

  • Experience in an international school environment is beneficial.

Curriculum Knowledge:

UAE-Specific Requirements:

  • Compliance with all regulations and licensing requirements set forth by the Abu Dhabi Department of Education and Knowledge (ADEK).

  • Successful completion of the ADEK teacher licensing process upon appointment.

  • Understanding and respect for local Emirati culture and traditions.

  • All educational qualifications must be attested by the UAE Embassy in the country of origin and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the UAE upon arrival.
