This Melbourne CBD role is four days on site with one day WFH. We’re seeking an experienced Enterprise Business Development Representative (BDR) to accelerate pipeline growth by engaging and qualifying senior decision-makers at large retail, hospitality, and services brands in Australia. You’ll combine strategic outbound prospecting with consultative discovery to identify and qualify complex enterprise opportunities, setting up targeted conversations that drive long-term partnerships.
As a seasoned BDR with ~2 years’ experience, you understand how to navigate the enterprise buying cycle, build credibility quickly with C-suite and senior stakeholders, and structure outreach that resonates with sophisticated business buyers. You’ll work in partnership with our Enterprise Business Development Management team on account-based marketing and outreach strategies, targeted campaigns and 1:1 outreach in order to accelerate the sales funnel and deliver high-quality qualified opportunities. This role is ideal for a motivated and persistent self-started who thrives in a challenge and is looking to step up into a more senior BDR position in a fast-growth technology brand.

Responsibilities

  • Enterprise Prospecting & Pipeline Growth: Execute targeted outbound strategies to identify, engage and qualify enterprise prospects across retail, hospitality, and services sectors using cold calling, email, personalised LinkedIn outreach, and account research.
  • Decision-Maker Engagement: Build rapport and credibility with senior leaders (e.g., Heads of Operations, Heads of Finance, CEOs, CFOs, COOs, General Managers) to understand their strategic priorities, challenges, and organisational goals, and identify how Zeller fits into these.
  • Discovery & Qualification: Conduct consultative discovery calls via phone / VC to uncover pain points, business needs, and buying readiness. Translate insights into qualified opportunities that meet enterprise criteria and are ready for Enterprise BDM handover.
  • Lead Nurture & Handover: Manage ongoing nurturing of mid-funnel enterprise leads and ensure seamless handoffs to AEs with detailed briefing notes, context, and follow-up recommended next steps.
  • Strategic Outreach Optimisation: Contribute to refining and scaling outreach campaigns, sequences, and messaging tailored to enterprise audiences and buyer personas.
  • Market & Competitive Insight: Maintain deep awareness of retail, hospitality, services industry trends, competitive landscapes, and customer needs to sharpen targeting and value positioning.
  • CRM & Pipeline Management: Accurately document all touch-points and prospect data in CRM (e.g., HubSpot) and track key performance metrics to support forecasting and pipeline health.

Your skills and experience

  • ~2 years’ experience in a BDR/SDR or similar sales development role, with exposure to enterprise or large / mid-market accounts and complex sales cycles
  • Strong track record in outbound prospecting, engaging senior decision-makers, and meeting activity and qualification targets
  • Hands-on experience with multiple prospecting techniques (including cold calls, Linkedin Sales Navigator / outreach, email, sequencing, and more
  • Excellent communication skills — articulate, persuasive, and adaptable across channels and audiences
  • Skilled in lead research, account mapping, and prioritisation of target lists
  • Proficient with CRM tools (HubSpot) and sales engagement platforms
  • Self-starter with high ownership, resilience, and a collaborative mindset
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a highly collaborative work style
