Marqeta is hiring an Enterprise Risk Management Lead to design and operationalize a modern ERM framework, run risk workshops, maintain the risk register and KRIs, and deliver audit-ready dashboards for senior leadership. You’ll define risk treatment, help implement GRC and AI-powered risk tools, and ensure risk insights shape daily decisions across the three lines of defense. The ideal candidate has 5–8+ years in risk, audit, or compliance in fintech or regulated environments, strong BI skills with Tableau or Power BI, and an agile, collaborative approach. This Flex First role is remote in Ontario or British Columbia with CAD 64,300–80,400 base, equity, remote stipend, development dollars, and parental leave; tailor your resume to show dashboards, KRIs, AI familiarity, and cross-functional impact.


As Marqeta's Enterprise Risk Management (“ERM”) Lead, you will be a core risk team member responsible for shaping how Marqeta identifies, assesses, and monitors risk across the organization. You will lead the design and implementation of a modern ERM framework that integrates risk management principles, advanced analytics, and financial quantification to protect the company and enable risk-balanced growth. This role requires a leader who can translate emerging and existing risks into actionable business insights for cross functional leaders..

The Impact You’ll Have

  • Lead the development and maturation of the ERM framework, ensuring it aligns with industry standards such as COSO.
  • Facilitate enterprise-wide risk workshops to identify emerging threats across technology, finance, operations, and other critical risk domains.
  • Maintain the Enterprise Risk Register and track Key Risk Indicators (KRIs) using advanced visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) to detect early warning signs.
  • Define and operationalize risk treatment program, including risk remediation and risk acceptance processes.
  • Assist in implementing GRC system solutions and AI-powered risk tools for real-time anomaly detection and automated risk reporting.
  • Prepare quarterly risk dashboards and audit-ready documentation for senior management and risk committees.
  • Collaborate across the "three lines of defense" to ensure risk management is integrated into day-to-day operations and decision making.

Who You Are

  • Experience: 5-8+ years of experience in risk, audit, or compliance roles, preferably within regulated and financial technology-centric environments.
  • Deep understanding of modern GRC (Governance, Risk, and Compliance) platforms and experience integrating AI/automation into risk workflows.
  • Dashboard & KRI development
    • Built dashboards for risk/compliance metrics
    • Assisted with data pipelines to drive risk/compliance dashboard reporting
    • Created automated reporting for stakeholder consumption
    • Experience with BI tools (Tableau, PowerBI, Looker)
  • Foundation of integrity and strong character to consistently represent Marqeta’s values
  • Self-starter who is a consummate team player and has demonstrated the ability to thrive in the face of ambiguity
  • Ability to prioritize, manage, and deliver on multiple projects; highly motivated and able to work in an agile environment
  • Ability to foster a proactive, risk-aware culture and influence critical cross functional stakeholders in decision making
  • Proficiency in data-driven risk assessment and complex problem-solving.

Nice-To-Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Risk Management, or a related field
  • Professional certification such as CRMP (Certified Risk Management Professional), CRM, CISA, or IRM qualifications is highly desirable.
  • Strong grasp of current and emerging regulations involving risk management(e.g., ISO 31000 and COSO).
  • Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and influencing skills with the ability to work with stakeholders across different functions and levels, both internally and with partners.
  • Startup/high-growth company experience with a proven track record of thriving in high-performing teams and fast-paced environments.

When determining salaries, we consider several factors including, but not limited to, skills, prior experience, and work location. The new-hire base salary range for this position, reflected in CAD,  is: 64,300 - 80,400
