As an Environmental Compliance Senior Specialist, you'll be at the center of helping AutoZone maintain compliance with federal, state, and local environmental regulations. You'll manage environmental programs and processes, respond to regulatory inquiries and Notices of Violation, oversee permits and reporting requirements, and support stores and distribution centers with compliance-related questions.

This role combines technical compliance expertise with collaboration and customer service. You'll work closely with environmental leadership, field operations, safety teams, and regulatory agencies to identify solutions, mitigate risk, and support a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement throughout the organization.

  • Support environmental compliance efforts across AutoZone stores and distribution centers.
  • Partner with the Environmental Manager to maintain and enhance environmental policies, procedures, and compliance programs.
  • Track, investigate, and respond to regulatory Notices of Violation (NOVs) and other compliance-related issues.
  • Coordinate responses to regulatory agency inquiries, inspections, and OSHA-related reporting requirements.
  • Manage environmental compliance data and maintain information within tracking systems, including HSI and DOMO.
  • Serve as a primary resource for store AutoZoners by answering environmental compliance questions and resolving issues promptly.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address environmental risks, opportunities, and business needs.
  • Prepare and submit annual reports and required documentation to environmental regulatory agencies.
  • Support permit, license, and certificate application processes and ensure required fees are submitted on time.
  • Monitor store compliance with state environmental regulations and OSHA requirements.
  • Track and reconcile vendor invoices and related compliance expenditures.
  • Assist Distribution Center Safety Managers with environmental reporting and compliance initiatives.
  • Ensure year-end environmental reporting obligations are completed accurately and on schedule.

You'll Go the Extra Mile If You Have

  • Experience supporting environmental compliance programs in a multi-site retail, distribution, or logistics environment.
  • Knowledge of OSHA compliance requirements and workplace safety regulations.
  • Experience responding to environmental inspections, audits, or enforcement actions.
