On-site
Western Australia, WA, Australia

Sodexo is a global services company with thousands of people in Australia, guided by a values set built around Service Spirit, Team Spirit and Spirit of Progress. They are an Equal Opportunity Employer and welcome applicants from all backgrounds. The role they’re filling is a Program Supervisor who will oversee the safe on-site delivery of small, capital and specialised construction projects across the Pilbara. This is a permanent, full-time position worked on a FIFO 8:6 roster with flights from Perth, staying onsite at sites across Western Australia’s north. If you lead with a safety mindset, enjoy coordinating multi-contractor work, and want to keep demanding programs moving, this could be a good fit.

The successful candidate will serve as the field-based leader on site, keeping programs on track, holding contractors to account, and ensuring stakeholders stay informed while milestones are met safely, on time and to standard. It’s a hands-on role that blends supervision, planning and execution in a high-demand environment, with opportunities to contribute to a broad range of construction activities across Pilbara sites.

Keeping complex projects on track in the Pilbara

In this role you’ll supervise the work crew and contractors, supervise their training, and ensure people are accountable for their tasks as the work progresses. You’ll help evaluate work requests, contributing to scoping and planning in the work management process, and you’ll take part in weekly pre-planning, planning and scheduling meetings to align resources with the schedule. You’ll oversee safe maintenance work in line with the approved timetable, and you’ll deliver both minor and capital works, including scope development, commercial input and tendering. When unplanned work arises you’ll manage its planning and execution, and if progress falters you’ll review performance with the team and drive corrective action to lift outcomes. You’ll also manage events, ensuring escalation protocols are followed, provide input into work strategies, and ensure end-to-end process compliance across projects.

Your essential toolkit

These are the must-have requirements that show you’ve got the core capabilities to lead on site. They are followed by a couple of nice-to-haves that can set you apart.

  • Trade-related qualification paired with relevant industry experience
  • A valid Working at Heights certificate
  • A Construction White Card
  • Ability to foresee issues and address them safely
  • Ability to keep precise time and material records and provide reports as needed
  • Strong communication and a team-oriented approach
  • Schedule 26 Statutory Supervisor Training is a plus
  • Prior experience in mining environments is valued

Rewards, schedule and site life

The role is permanent and full-time, with a FIFO 8:6 roster and flights from Perth. It centers on sites across the Pilbara in Western Australia, where the work is onsite and the challenges are real. Sodexo offers a competitive salary, opportunities for development and a comprehensive benefits and recognition program as part of an international organisation committed to the growth of its people and business.

Tips to help you stand out

Put the most important qualifications right at the top of your resume: lead with your trade-related qualification, the relevant on-site experience you bring, and your valid Working at Heights license along with the Construction White Card.

Show how you prove the must-haves in practice. Include a concrete example of a time you identified a potential safety issue, what steps you took to address it, and how you kept time and material records accurate during the process.

Prepare to walk through how you handle planning and scheduling. Describe your approach to weekly pre-planning meetings, resource alignment, and how you manage unplanned work while maintaining end-to-end process compliance.

Finish with a smart, role-specific question to interviewers. For example, ask about key milestones for current Pilbara projects, how they balance safety with aggressive timelines on the 8:6 FIFO schedule, or what the leadership expects from the Program Supervisor in the first 90 days.
