An exciting opportunity has become available for a Purchasing Officer to join our team in Henderson, WA. Due to internal career progression, we're looking for a motivated professional who is keen to build a long-term career in Procurement within the Defence industry.
Supported by experienced subject matter experts, you'll gain exposure to the full procurement lifecycle, including sourcing activities, supplier engagement, quotation management, and contract compliance. This role offers excellent development opportunities and a clear pathway for career growth within Procurement.
A key part of the role will involve reviewing procurement activities, identifying and mitigating risk, and helping ensure value-for-money outcomes across the business. Your attention to detail and commitment to quality will be essential as you support the team's contractual and performance obligations.
This position is primarily based in Henderson, WA, with occasional requirements to work from our Garden Island site.

You are a detail-oriented professional with a passion for delivering accurate outcomes and building strong working relationships. You thrive in a collaborative environment, enjoy problem-solving, and are motivated to continuously learn and improve.

In this role, you will:
- Prepare, negotiate, and submit Request for Quote (RFQ) packages
- Support procurement and purchasing activities across the business
- Assist in identifying and managing procurement-related risks
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
- Build and maintain positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders
To be successful you will have:
- Australian Citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a Defence Security Clearance
- Experience working with ERP systems (IFS experience highly regarded)
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills and confidence using the broader Microsoft Office Suite
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- High attention to detail and strong organisational abilities
- The ability to build effective relationships with a wide range of stakeholders
- A proactive, team-oriented approach and commitment to continuous improvement
- A current driver's licence
- Membership of, or interest in joining, the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (CIPS) or the Australian Supply Chain Institute (ASCI) will be highly regarded
