THE POSITION

The Equine Brand Veterinary Adviser is a key technical role within the Animal Health business, supporting the UK and Ireland markets. Acting as the veterinary expert, the role provides scientific and technical leadership across equine products, ensuring their safe, effective, and compliant use.

This role plays a critical part in bridging veterinary science, marketing, and commercial teams, delivering expert insight that shapes brand strategy and enables customer-centric decision making. The position supports both day-to-day business and long-term strategic development through strong stakeholder collaboration, technical training, and engagement with key external experts.

 

TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provide expert technical consultancy on equine products, disease areas, and their safe and effective use to colleagues, distributors, and customers
• Deliver veterinary insight to Brand Managers, contributing to the development of customer-centric strategic brand plans
• Review and approve promotional materials to ensure scientific accuracy, compliance with company standards, and adherence to regulatory and industry codes
• Ensure all marketing and sales activities comply with NOAH/APHA Codes of Practice, RCVS regulations, pharmacovigilance requirements, and internal procedures
• Partner closely with marketing and commercial teams to embed technical expertise into campaigns and strategy
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with Key External Experts (KEEs) and industry stakeholders
• Design and deliver technical training programs and tools to enhance knowledge across internal teams and distributors
• Monitor competitor activity, scientific publications, and industry trends, providing relevant insights to the business
• Actively contribute to copy approval processes and support regulatory submissions when required
• Participate in conferences, industry events, and stakeholder meetings, representing the company and strengthening its external presence
• Support a 24/7 technical enquiry rota, ensuring timely, accurate responses and excellent customer experience
• Promote and uphold high standards of compliance, ethics, and Speak Up culture across all activities

 

REQUIREMENTS

Education

• Veterinary degree (essential)
• Fluency in English

Skills & Experience

• Experience in veterinary practice, preferably equine
• Strong knowledge of equine products, disease areas, and therapeutics
• Solid understanding of NOAH/APHA, RCVS, and VMR regulations
• Experience supporting marketing and/or sales teams is an advantage
• Ability to translate complex scientific data into clear insights
• Strong stakeholder management in cross-functional environments
• Experience working with KOLs/KEEs is a plus
• Excellent communication and presentation skills
• Analytical mindset with strong attention to detail
• Strong planning, prioritization, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
