Facility Technician
Child Development SchoolsChild Development Schools is seeking a Facilities Technician to serve as the primary local source of preventive maintenance and repairs across 12- to 15 school buildings and the surrounding property. The role helps keep campuses safe, functional, and inviting for children, families, and staff, and the work is performed onsite in Hiram, Georgia.

Keeping 12-15 school sites running smoothly
On a day-to-day basis you’ll perform preventive maintenance and repairs across interiors, exteriors, and operating systems such as HVAC, electrical, plumbing, mechanical systems, and lighting, plus you’ll handle general carpentry, minor wall patching, painting, and roof repairs.
You’ll identify safety issues and fix them promptly, conduct safety and security checks of playgrounds and property, and assist in inspections for renovations and new construction. You’ll also play a part in spotting capital replacement needs and sharing recommendations with management.
Administratively, you’ll keep accurate digital records through work order systems, order materials and manage inventory, and submit time records along with scheduling documentation.

- Valid driver’s license and the ability to pass a motor vehicle background check
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and prior use of a work order management system
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and to climb ladders and inspect roofs safely
- Willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Strong communication and a customer‑service approach for interacting with school staff
Nice-to-haves
- EPA/HVAC license is preferred but not required
- Prior experience in a lead or supervisory maintenance role is preferred
Pay, conditions and practical details
Pay ranges from $25 to $29 per hour.
This is a full-time, onsite role based in Hiram, Georgia, with responsibilities across multiple school sites and surrounding property.
The role involves physical demands such as lifting up to 50 pounds and climbing ladders, and work occurs outdoors in various weather conditions.
