The Field Marketing Specialist (FMS) supports the Field Marketing Manager (FMM) in building the local face of Red Bull in Melbourne and wider Victoria in line with the global and national strategies and priorities. They work with the FMM to build strong local networks including opinion-leaders and key creators both online (social media) and offline. They help to create and implement marketing initiatives in the four key pillars of the marketing mix (Student Marketing, Sports, Culture and Communications) leveraging On Premise, Off Premise and New Business opportunities. The role of an FMS is dynamic and active, as they are consistently engaged 'in the field' rather than confined to an office environment.
Job Description
STRATEGIC DIRECTION AND RIGHTNESS OF BRAND PRIORITIES
- Work closely with the FMM on the implementation of the field strategy and on defining ideas and programs to grow understanding of the product functionality & relevance on a local level.
- Execute core marketing programme fundamentals in a tailored way, applying best practices where they fit local needs.
- Drive relevance across a variety of occasions and moments, activating the right big moments in the region.
- Use your strong commercial acumen to ensure marketing activity drives can sales, working closely with sales teams to improve product availability in key accounts.
- Actively identify and create new opportunities to excite consumers with the Event Vehicle, whether through new networks, events or scenes.
STUDENT MARKETING PROGRAM MANAGEMENT
- Set clear expectations and guidelines for Student Marketeers (SMs) to plan and deliver Red Bull at key local moments, and ensure the university programme has strong sales support in place to drive company objectives.
- Ensure sales support is a core part of the program, working cross-functionally with counterparts on an effective plan. Coach and empower each SM in the planning process for a constant flow of fresh mission ideas.
- Use programme tools and reporting to track performance, identify targeting improvements and gather strategic insights (e.g. consumer perceptions) to drive a smarter programme.
EVENT VEHICLE PROGRAM MANAGEMENT
- Effectively manage the state Event Vehicle (EV) programme and drivers, from planning and execution through to reporting.
- Within the state Sales & Marketing plan, identify new EV opportunities across networks, events and scenes, with a focus on priority playgrounds and audiences.
PREMIUM & EXECUTIONAL EXCELLENCE
- Support the FMM in delivering brand-aligned local events and marketing opportunities that drive consumer participation.
- Lead and execute a smart and relevant Occasion Marketing plan which focuses on building relevance of Red Bull in the right consumption occasions for your local consumers.
- Identify and manage key opinion leaders and creators, building strong relationships that unlock mutual value for Red Bull and external partners.
- Support in delivering a program with the right balance and involvement of 3rd party event properties in the right scenes and playgrounds.
- Activate national and international best practices in & around universities, encompassing the core program objectives.
ORGANISATIONAL CAPABILITIES AND ENABLING STRUCTURE
- Act as a role model by consistently embodying Red Bull values with a motivating and inspiring tone of voice.
- Support local logistics to ensure the right tools and processes are in place for premium brand execution, including Minis, POSM, and other program tools.
- Lead and inspire the team by clearly communicating the strategy, showing how they contribute, and coaching them to build brand and can love through their programs.
- Work cross-functionally with HR & Legal to manage administrative tasks related to team employment (legal, contracts, payroll, etc.).
Qualifications
- University degree, ideally in Marketing, Business, Events, or relevant work experience of minimum 3 years
- Background in sports, music, events or marketing industries is advantageous.
- Strong understanding of key Melbourne and wider Victoria scenes with established local networks (e.g. music, sport, culture)
- Experience leading or managing teams is advantageous
- Detail-oriented with high standards of execution
