Emirates Global Aluminium is seeking a Field Operator - Energy to ensure the smooth, safe operation of gas and steam turbines, HRSGs, potline rectifiers and related utilities in their designated area, under instruction from the Shift Supervisor or the Main Control Room Operator. Key duties include operating plant equipment safely and efficiently, recording routine parameter readings and reporting deviations, informing supervisors of abnormalities, maintaining standby equipment, assisting with routine testing after maintenance outages, and upholding safe working practices and emergency procedures while maintaining good housekeeping and participating in on the job training to raise competency. At Jebel Ali site, additional roles cover Operator Turbine & Boiler and Assistant Operator with scope restricted to gas and steam turbines and related equipment. The role requires Higher Secondary, 4 years in a power station, 2 years desalination operator experience, English at an intermediate level, and solid IT and problem solving skills. JOB PURPOSE:

To ensure the smooth and continuous operation of the gas and steam turbines, HRSGs, potline rectifiers, associated plant equipment and all related utility services in his designated area of responsibility, in a safe and efficient manner as instructed by the Shift Supervisor or the Main Control Room Operator.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Ensure that all plant and equipment under his control are operated in a safe and efficient manner.Ensure that all instructions are carried out promptly and efficiently.Record routine parameter readings on regular basis and report deviations.Inform the Supervisor (or) control room of any abnormalities/problems on equipmentEnsure standby equipment is readily available for service in an emergency.Assist in carrying out routine testing/re-commissioning of plant after maintenance outages.Adopt safe working practices to ensure personal and plant safety.Identify hazards and participate effectively in reporting system.Maintain good standards of housekeeping.Must be fully conversant with all emergency procedures related to the equipment in his designated area of responsibilityCarry out on the job trainingStrive to achieve increased competencyJebel Ali Site, additional rolesOperator Turbine & BoilerAssistant OperatorAt Jebel Ali Site, for the roles of Operator Turbine & Boiler and Assistant Operator, the above accountabilities will be restricted to Gas Turbines, Steam Turbines, associated plant equipment and related utilities.

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:

Minimum Qualifications:

Higher Secondary School Certificate.

Minimum Experience:

4 years in a power station.2 years’ work experience as Desalination Operator (PG7) or equivalent experience gained working in a similar industry.Skills:Achieved competencies in all areas except DCR operation.English language skills (to prepare and complete shift reports.
