The Fire Safety Inspector I shall carry out the performance responsibilities listed below:
• A standard high school diploma or satisfactory completion of an approved General Educational Development (GED) Testing program.
• A minimum of four (4) years of experience and/or training in the field related to the title of the position.
• Current certification for Fire Safety Inspector from the State of Florida, Department of Insurance, Division of State Fire Marshal, within one year.
• Verification of completion of course conducted by the State Department of Education to inspect existing school facilities in accordance with State Requirements for Educational Facilities (SREF).
• Have knowledge of roads and streets throughout the County as they pertain to student safety enroute to and from school.
• Knowledge of accident prevention techniques.
• Have knowledge of the state and federal regulations as they pertain to safety and health.
• Computer skills as required for the position.
Frequently communicates with principals, school administration, and maintenance operations staff
Light work: Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently as needed to move objects. Extensive walking.
Salary and benefits shall be paid consistent with the District's approved compensation plan. Length of the work year and hours of employment shall be those established by the School Board.
