Job Description

The Fleet Supervisor is responsible for ensuring the efficient and effective operation of a transfer station haulage fleet. This role will also provide exceptional customer service which includes the effective management of drivers. Key responsibilities include:

  • Coordinate transport services to ensure customer requirements are met.
  • Liaise with  suppliers and workshop in relation to service and maintenance requirements and to ensure planned maintenance times will not impact on customer service.
  • Regularly review and allocate routes with  direct reports to maximise efficiency of collection.
  • Carry out daily spot inspections of direct reports, equipment, plant and vehicles to ensure issues are identified and remedied.
  • Ensure drivers have been deemed competent and correctly licensed for operation of all equipment they are requested to operate.
  • Hold regular toolbox meetings with all direct reports.

Qualifications

  • Frontline supervisory experience, in a Transport & Logistics role
  • Knowledge of transport regulations for operation of heavy vehicles
  • Strong problem analysis and solution skills
  • Experience leading teams
  • Excellent verbal and written skills
  • Effective computer skills (MS excel, word, outlook)
  • Class 5 license desirable
