NZSki is seeking a full-time on-site Food and Beverage Admin and Purchasing Assistant in Queenstown to support purchasing, stock control and frontline operations across Coronet Peak, The Remarkables and Mt Hutt. You’ll manage purchase orders, data entry and stock transfers, assist with banking and reconciliations, train staff on POS, handle cash and payroll admin tasks, and step into front of house during peak periods. The ideal candidate is highly organized, with hospitality experience, strong MS Office and POS skills, an autonomous work style and excellent communication. In the world of stock management, you'll collaborate with the Storespersons and Head Chef, turning purchase orders into culinary dreams. Juggle Front of House ordering, conquer data entry and stock management, and orchestrate departmental transfers.

In this role, you're not just a behind-the-scenes wizard – you're the daily operational support star, ready to flex your administrative muscles wherever the department needs a hand. About the role

• Maintaining accurate banking records and reporting discrepancies as they occur

• Training staff in the operations of the Point of Sale System, balancing their tills and cash handling policies and processes

• The ordering of products for all ski area food & beverage outlets

• Assisting other departments with purchasing requirements

• Data entry and department transfers

• Correct processing and administration of inward goods

• Assist with stocktaking & rolling stocktakes with the Head of Department, Head Chef & Finance team

• Assisting in administration duties for the department such as payroll and HR administration, printing menus, and being the first point of contact for external and internal communications

• This position includes working in a Front of House role during peak periods as required


About You

• A strong administrative background (ideally in the hospitality industry) including excellent keyboard skills, a professional phone manner and exceptional organisational ability


• Experienced in the use of Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word and PowerPoint)

• The ability to engage and build a rapport with guests and staff quickly

• Proven experience in working autonomously along with sound decision-making skills.

• Any other hospitality experience would be considered an advantage.

• Previous cash handling & balancing skills, bank reconciliation or other accounting experience- along with accuracy and attention to detail

• Previous experience of using Point of Sale (POS) systems

• Willingness and flexibility to assist in other areas of the department as required

• Food Control Plan knowledge & record keeping experience an advantage
