Summary: The Maintenance and Refrigeration Manager oversees the work done by maintenance and refrigeration supervisors and their crewmembers. The manager also looks for improvements inside the department and improvements of the equipment or facility to improve production performances.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities: Manages subordinate supervisors who supervise hourly employees in Maintenance and Refrigeration. Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these units. Also directly supervises one non-supervisory employee. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Education and/or Experience: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from four-year college or university; or seven to ten years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
Mathematical Skills: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Must have a valid driver’s license and be able to qualify for the company as a pool driver.
Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems. Ability to deal with nonverbal symbolism (formulas, scientific equations, graphs, musical notes, etc.,) in its most difficult phases. Ability to deal with a variety of abstract and concrete variables.
Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Database software; Design software, i.e. AutoCAD; Internet software; Inventory software; Payroll systems; Project Management software; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.
Other Skills and Abilities: A person has to be able to perform the above items and be flexible to changes and adjust to interruptions brought on by unseen problems with equipment, production, sanitation, and personnel. Must be able to read and understand schematics, drawings, mechanical manuals, and code books.
