neoBIM is seeking a founding designer who will own the look, feel, and design system from day one, coding the UI in HTML/CSS/React and shaping tokens, variants, and accessibility on a shadcn/ui foundation. This role centers on 3D and canvas based interaction, viewport controls, and a tight engineer collaboration in which design and production live in the same codebase. You’ll own iconography and illustrations, shape the brand, and report directly to the founders. To apply, share live, code driven work, demonstrate a design system contribution with shadcn or a token based library, and note a 3D UI tool you admire, with Felix reachable at +49 1769 54222094 for questions.

Co‑founded by industry pioneers, the company is on a mission to make BIM smarter, faster and more collaborative. With a growing team, neoBIM offers an innovative work environment, a flexible culture and the chance to work on impactful global projects.
We're hiring our founding designer to own the look, feel, and design system of the product from day one — and to do it in a way that's collapsing the old design-to-handoff pipeline.
How we think about design here
The traditional loop is: design in Figma → hand off → engineers translate to code → drift sets in → repeat. We don't want that. Tools like Claude now let designers express intent directly in code, working in the real design system instead of a mirror of it. So the only translation step left is designer-code → production-code — far closer, far less lossy.
We're not dogmatic about never opening a canvas to think. But the designer we want is someone who reaches for code as their primary medium and treats the running product as the source of truth.
This role is for a designer who thinks in systems, understands software constraints, and can reason about 3D interaction — so what you ship is buildable, native to the medium, and not just pretty in a mockup. Specifically:
How to apply
1. Your portfolio (links to live files preferred over static images — we want to see how you build, not just what you ship)
2. One example where you set up or significantly contributed to a design system, ideally one that used shadcn or a similar token-based component library
3. A short note on a 3D, CAD, or technical tool whose UI you admire — and what specifically makes it good
