Join Qantas in our brand-new Product Innovation Centre located in Adelaide will contribute to consumer needs by architecting and delivering robust, scalable systems that power seamless digital experiences, ensuring fast, secure, and reliable services that support evolving customer expectations. 

As a Front-End Developer you will be a hands-on, mid-level skilled software developer with the experience to dive into code to deliver high quality, well-designed software. You will share responsibility for the quality of the software being built, including but not limited to; achieving desired business outcomes, meeting reliability and performance expectations and safely managing security and data privacy concerns. 

You’ll have:

  • 3+ years in a hands-on Software Engineering role 
  • Experience building high‑traffic customer facing web applications
  • Working experience with front end technologies (i.e JavaScript, React JS, SSR, Micro Front Ends, HTML, CSS, CSS Modules, etc)
  • Experience with leveraging design systems and sharing reusable components across repositories
  • Knowledge and experience of cloud platforms such as AWS - EC2, S3, Lambda, etc preferred
  • A real passion for UX, browser performance and accessibility
  • Containerisation technology concepts, such as Docker and Kubernetes
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines (preferably GitHub Actions), version control (Git), and automated testing practices
  • Experience using observability and monitoring tools (e.g. Splunk, Datadog, or similar) to support production systems
  • A real passion for quality, clean code and continuous improvement 
  • An understanding of architectural concepts and cloud-based solution design 
  • Highly dedicated ethos - expected to take very real accountability for the work you're doing 
  • A test and learn mindset with curiosity, collaboration and care 
  • Experience writing multi-threaded, asynchronous code 
  • Experience with Adobe Experience Manager and Adobe Edge Delivery Services desirable
  • Experience with consuming GraphQL data desirable
