Electrical Draftsman – Job Description
An Electrical Draftsman is responsible for preparing accurate electrical drawings, layouts, and technical documentation for construction and engineering projects. The role involves developing detailed shop drawings, as-built drawings, and coordination drawings in accordance with project specifications, electrical standards, and consultant requirements.
Key Responsibilities:

Prepare electrical shop drawings, installation drawings, and as-built drawings using AutoCAD or other drafting software.

Develop layouts for power distribution, lighting systems, emergency lighting, cable trays, containment systems, earthing, and low-current systems.

Review IFC drawings, project specifications, and consultant comments to ensure compliance with project requirements.

Coordinate with MEP disciplines, architects, structural engineers, and site teams to resolve design conflicts and clashes.

Prepare single-line diagrams (SLDs), panel schedules, and cable routing drawings as required.

Incorporate revisions and updates based on consultant and client feedback.

Assist in quantity take-offs and preparation of material schedules.

Maintain proper documentation and drawing records throughout the project lifecycle.

Ensure all drawings comply with local authority regulations, electrical codes, and company standards.
Requirements:

Diploma or certification in Electrical Engineering, Drafting, or a related field.

Proficiency in AutoCAD and other relevant drafting software.

Strong understanding of electrical systems, construction drawings, and MEP coordination.
