Plumbing Draftsman – Job Description
Job Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed plumbing shop drawings for high-rise building projects.
- Develop sanitary drainage, soil & waste, and water supply drawings .
- Prepare plumbing coordination drawings and coordinate with HVAC, electrical, architectural, and structural disciplines.
- Prepare as-built drawings based on site requirements and approved modifications.
- Develop detailed layouts, sections, riser diagrams, and plumbing schematics.
- Ensure drawings comply with project specifications, authority requirements, and approved design documents .
- Review architectural and MEP drawings to identify clashes and discrepancies.
- Coordinate with site engineers, MEP coordinators, consultants, and subcontractors.
- Incorporate consultant/client comments and revise drawings accordingly.
- Prepare drawings using AutoCAD and, preferably, Revit MEP/BIM .
- Maintain proper drawing standards, revisions, and documentation.
- Provide technical drafting support to the site and project teams.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Diploma/Degree in Mechanical Engineering, MEP, or related field preferred.
- 3–5+ years of experience as a Plumbing Draftsman.
- Proven experience in high-rise building projects is required.

Strong knowledge of:
- Sanitary drainage systems
- Soil and waste systems
- Water supply systems
- Hot & cold water systems
- Plumbing risers and schematics
- Pump rooms and water tanks
- Plumbing coordination drawings
- Proficiency in AutoCAD is mandatory.
- Knowledge of Revit MEP/BIM is an advantage.
- Ability to read and understand architectural, structural, and MEP drawings.
- Good knowledge of MEP coordination and clash detection.
