Hydro Extrusions in North York, ON is seeking a Furnace Operator for a full-time onsite role. Starting Rate of Pay:

$24.77/hour

 

Shifts Available and Hours:

This position operates on a rotating biweekly shift schedule, alternating between day and night shifts as follows:

  • Week 1: 4 days (48 hours) – 12:00 AM to 12:00 PM
  • Week 2: 3 days (36 hours) – 12:00 AM to 12:00 PM
  • Week 3: 4 days (48 hours) – 12:00 PM to 12:00 AM
  • Week 4: 3 days (36 hours) – 12:00 PM to 12:00 AM

What you will be doing

  • Operate furnaces used to melt aluminum for casting and production processes
  • Perform pre-operational inspections and monitor furnace conditions
  • Operate overhead cranes to lift, move, and position materials safely
  • Manage transfer and alloying of molten aluminum during production operations
  • Support general production activities while following all Health & Safety procedures

What will make you successful?

Required Education/Experience:

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Ability to work rotating shifts as required
  • Good communication skills in English, both verbal and written

Preferred Skills/Qualifications:

  • Experience operating industrial equipment or overhead cranes
  • Able to work in high-heat environments (30–35°C+) near furnaces 
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Strong attention to safety and operational procedures
  • Team-oriented with a strong work ethic
