Oerlikon is hiring a Furnace Operator for the Troy, MI facility to safely load materials, purge with inert gas, power up, monitor temperatures and pour molten metal from an induction furnace; maintain the refractory lining and production records. This night shift runs 6:00 pm to 6:30 am with a two week rotation including weekends, and you will train on days before transitioning. Responsibilities include meeting safety, quality and productivity goals, supporting continuous improvement, and cleaning between alloys. Furnace Operator (6p-6.30a)
We are looking for a Furnace Operator for our Troy, MI facility. In this role you will safely prepare, melt, and atomize metal powder following job instructions. This will include loading the furnace with raw materials, purging down with inert gas, power-up, taking temperatures, inspecting, and pouring the molten metal from a hydraulically positioned induction furnace. Support activities associated with position include preparation and maintenance of the refractory furnace lining, maintenance of accurate production records, delivery of atomized product to the screening area, and cleaning the furnace and atomization system between alloys.
This position is night shift (6p-6.30a) with a two week rotating scheduling working every other weekend. You will train on day shift, then transition to nights.
