Smart Environmental Ltd works on behalf of local councils, businesses, and communities providing rubbish and recycling collections. Acquired by Blue Planet and with a large fleet of collection vehicles and line haul operations, our mission is to divert waste from landfill.
About the role
We are looking for a reliable and versatile team member to manage the pit and public drop-off areas. Responsibilities include assisting customers where possible with waste and recycling drop-offs, looking after traffic management , maintaining a safe and tidy site, and operating a loader within the pit area.
Key duties include loading PODs of rubbish, loading glass trucks, and loading open-top bins of green waste and other materials, ensuring all operations are carried out safely and efficiently.
The successful applicant will also be expected to provide cover for the weighbridge and kiosk when required, including customer service, processing EFTPOS and cash transactions, operating computer systems, and assisting with general site administration.
This is a hands-on role that requires flexibility, a strong commitment to health and safety, good communication skills, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
This permanent part-time position is scheduled for Friday (8:30am – 4:00pm), Saturday (9:00am – 4:00pm), and Monday(8:30am – 4:00pm). Flexibility and a willingness to work additional days when required are important aspects of the role.
