Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Geotechnical Engineer to join our team and contribute to the successful delivery of infrastructure, energy, and building projects across the GCC region. This role requires a balance of geotechnical design expertise and field experience, with a focus on investigation, analysis, and delivering innovative solutions. The ideal candidate will have strong technical skills, familiarity with industry-standard software, and the ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

General Responsibilities

  • Perform specific and limited portions of broader engineering assignments under moderate supervision.
  • Gather, correlate, and analyze geotechnical data using established procedures.
  • Conduct detailed calculations and routine tests, identifying discrepancies and proposing solutions.
  • Provide guidance to entry-level engineers and ensure deliverables meet budget, schedule, and quality requirements.

Core Technical Tasks

  • Plan and manage Geotechnical Investigations, including in-situ and laboratory testing.
  • Assess geotechnical parameters and prepare Ground Models for various design scenarios.
  • Undertake at least three of the following design specialties:
    • Shallow foundation design
    • Deep foundation design
    • Earthworks/embankment design
    • Slope stability analysis & design
    • Excavation lateral support design
    • Ground improvement design
    • Liquefaction assessment

Advanced Expertise (Preferred)

  • Geophysical survey interpretation, seismic design, dam geotechnics, or further depth in any of the design specialties listed above.

Software Proficiency

  • Utilize geotechnical analysis tools such as Slope/W, Slide, Seep/W, Plaxis 2D, RS2, Sigma/W, Repute, Group, LPile, PDisp, Settle 3D, CPeT-IT, CLiq/Liquefy-Pro.
  • Experience with 3D FEM software is considered an advantage.

Commercial & Contractual Awareness

  • Draft scopes, BoQs, and technical specifications for investigation, survey, and construction works.
  • Support contract administration, risk identification, and cost-control activities.

Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, contractors, clients, and approving authorities.
  • Present technical findings and recommendations in clear, concise reports and presentations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Geotechnical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Engineering Geology, Geological Engineering, Foundation Engineering, Soil/Rock Mechanics, Rock Engineering, or Mining Engineering from an accredited university.
  • 2 – 8 years’ experience in geotechnical design and field activities.
  • Proven competence in at least three core technical areas (see section above).
  • Working knowledge of key geotechnical software packages.
  • Strong technical writing skills for preparing reports, proposals, and specifications.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s or PhD in a relevant discipline.
  • Experience with 3D FEM analyses and advanced numerical modelling.
  • Additional expertise in seismic design, dam geotechnics, or geophysical interpretation.
  • CEng, PE, or equivalent professional registration (or actively pursuing).
