You’ll join a multidisciplinary team and work on soil and rock mechanics across projects from buildings to slope stability, earthworks, and foundations. Key duties include planning and supervising boreholes and field tests, logging soils and rocks, performing calculations, and drafting memos under senior review. Ideal candidates hold a geotechnical or civil engineering degree with a geotechnical focus, at least two years of geotech experience, and eligibility for the P.Eng. designation in Ontario. CIMA+ Earth and Environment Department is looking for a Geotechnical Engineering Trainee for its Burlington or Mississauga office. When you join our team, you’ll be working in a multidisciplinary group comprising geotechnical and geological engineers, as well as environmental specialists.
Your expertise in soil/rock mechanics will enable you to contribute to a variety of challenging projects, including the design, rehabilitation or construction of buildings, engineering structures, hydraulic structures, earthworks, slope stability, roads, temporary and permanent retaining structures, deep and conventional foundations, and much more.
