Full-time
On-site
Telford, FR

Hager is growing its Project Business, a strategic area focused on complex power distribution for buildings, industry and infrastructure. The company is looking for a Global Project Business Quality Leader to design and drive a quality model that supports profitable growth, strengthens customer trust and ensures every project performs as intended across the full solution lifecycle.

The role reports directly to the Vice President Project Business and comes with global scope, visibility and the influence to position quality as a differentiator for Hager’s project work. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who wants to shape how quality is embedded across engineering, procurement, manufacturing, installation and commissioning in customer projects.

This isn't a traditional quality job focused only on product conformity. The mandate is broader: make sure everything the company designs, configures, sells, manufactures, delivers, installs and commissions works as one cohesive solution in the customer's project environment. The position is onsite in Telford, FR, and is well-suited to someone who likes cross-functional collaboration and sees quality as a strategic driver.

Shaping the framework that guides project delivery

You will construct the global Project Business Quality Model and lay out what good governance looks like across the entire lifecycle, from specifications and engineering through configuration, manufacturing, logistics, installation, commissioning and after-sales support.

Beyond product conformity, you’ll ensure that hardware, software, engineering choices and applications work together as planned. That means weaving quality into customer requirements, solution design, project preparation and execution, and spotting technical, operational and execution risks early so preventive actions can be taken.

Customer experience and field quality are central. You’ll lead responses to major complaints, field issues and escalations with fast containment, solid root-cause analysis and effective corrective and preventive actions. You’ll raise the bar for installation and commissioning quality and translate field feedback into systemic improvements across products, engineering, processes and partner networks.

Transparency on the Cost of Poor Quality, warranty exposure and project-related quality risks will be essential. You’ll identify the main quality cost drivers, define focused improvement priorities and build preventive mechanisms to reduce rework, delays, claims, warranty costs and customer dissatisfaction.

As a strategic quality partner, you’ll collaborate with R&D, Product Management, Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, Sales, Service and Group Quality. You’ll build and develop the Project Business quality organization and extend the quality community across the company, while strengthening ties with panel builders, system integrators, contractors and installers. Structured partner qualification, onboarding, audits and performance improvements will be part of your remit.

Finally, you’ll make quality performance visible. You’ll define a focused set of indicators covering customer quality, project quality, field performance, partner quality and Cost of Poor Quality, building dashboards and project review routines that provide fact-based visibility on performance and risks. Using field data, trend analysis and root-cause insights, you’ll prioritize improvement actions and provide clear reporting and recommendations to Project Business leadership and relevant Group functions.

What success looks like in the first years

Within the first three years, you’ll have established and deployed a scalable global Project Business Quality framework, embedded quality and risk management earlier in projects and engineering, clarified ownership across functions, regions and partners, reduced major customer escalations and recurring field issues, and improved installation, commissioning and partner quality performance. You’ll build a transparent, data-driven view of quality risks and improvement priorities, and position quality as a recognized contributor to customer trust, project performance and profitability.

What you bring

Experience and technical expertise

You combine solid quality know-how with practical insight into complex project, engineering and solution businesses. You bring:

  • A degree in engineering, quality management or a related technical field
  • Substantial leadership experience in quality, engineering or operations within an international, project-driven industrial environment
  • Strong exposure to complex electrical systems, engineered solutions, applications or similar technical project businesses
  • A firm grasp of system, solution and application quality, beyond single-product conformity
  • Proven track record in customer quality, field quality, complaints, critical escalations, warranty topics and Cost of Poor Quality
  • Solid knowledge of quality and risk management, certification processes and standards such as ISO 9001 and CE requirements
  • Hands-on experience with quality methodologies such as 8D, FMEA, root-cause analysis and Six Sigma or equivalent approaches
  • Experience defining governance, processes and performance indicators across functions and regions
  • Experience in electrical distribution, switchgear, panel building, system integration, infrastructure, EPC or similar project environments would be especially valuable

Leadership capabilities

You can lead change across a global, matrixed organization and influence colleagues without relying solely on formal authority. You can:

  • Build a new capability and rally teams around a clear vision
  • Guid international teams and communities across functions and regions
  • Persuade senior stakeholders with practical, data-driven arguments
  • Translate strategic quality ambitions into workable operational standards
  • Stay structured, decisive and customer-focused during escalations
  • Move comfortably between customer discussions, technical reviews, project decisions and executive conversations
  • Explain complex issues clearly and turn data into targeted business actions

What really makes the difference

You view quality as a business enabler, not just a control function. You challenge root causes and understand how engineering, operations, partners and project execution shape the customer experience. You recognise when standards are essential, while also prioritising pragmatism, ownership and speed in a project setting. More than anything, you want to build something new and leave a tangible impact on customers and business performance.
