Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced IT Business Analyst with strong domain knowledge in foreign trade restrictions, export control, and trade compliance processes, coupled with hands‑on experience supporting engineering and documentation management solutions. This role will serve as a critical liaison between Global Trade Compliance, Engineering, IT, and Operations, translating regulatory and business requirements into scalable system solutions.

The ideal candidate has worked in regulated, engineering-driven environments and understands how trade compliance requirements intersect with PLM, document control, ERP, and logistics systems.

Key Responsibilities

Business Analysis & Requirements

  • Partner with Global Trade Compliance, Engineering, and IT teams to analyze and document business processes related to:
    • Export controls (EAR/ITAR)
    • Denied party screening
    • License determination and management
    • Product classification (HTS/ECCN)
    • Documentation retention and audit readiness
  • Elicit, analyze, and document functional and non-functional requirements for system enhancements and integrations.
  • Translate regulatory and compliance requirements into system use cases, data models, and workflows.

Systems & Application Support

  • Serve as a subject matter bridge between business stakeholders and IT teams for solutions including:
    • PTC Windchill (PLM, document/version control)
    • KYG Trade or similar classification solutions
    • EASE, Descartes, or equivalent trade compliance platforms
  • Support system configurations related to trade control flags
  • Assist with system integrations between PLM and trade compliance platforms.

Process Improvement & Compliance Enablement

  • Recommend system and process improvements to:
    • Improve compliance accuracy
    • Reduce manual effort
    • Enable audit traceability
  • Support internal and external audits by providing system documentation, data flows, and evidence.

Project Delivery

  • Participate in or lead system implementation and enhancement projects, including:
    • Requirements definition
    • User Acceptance Testing (UAT) planning and execution
    • Change management support
  • Create and maintain:
    • Business requirement documents (BRDs)
    • Functional specifications
    • Process flows and data mappings
  • Collaborate with vendors, system integrators, and internal development teams.

Job Requirements

  • Required Qualifications

    Experience

    • 3–10 years of experience as an IT Business Analyst, Systems Analyst, or similar role.
    • Demonstrated experience supporting foreign trade compliance or export control processes in an IT or systems context.
    • Hands-on experience with engineering or documentation management systems, such as:
      • PTC Windchill (preferred)
      • Other PLM or document control platforms
    • Experience working with trade compliance systems, such as:
      • Descartes
      • EASE
      • KYG Trade or similar classification solutions

    Technical & Domain Skills

    • Strong understanding of:
      • Export controls (EAR/ITAR concepts)
      • Trade-related documentation requirements
    • Experience with:
      • System integrations (PLM ↔  Trade Compliance)
      • Data analysis, mapping, and validation
    • Proficient in requirements documentation and process modeling tools.

    Soft Skills

    • Strong communication skills with the ability to translate complex regulatory requirements into technical solutions.
    • Ability to work effectively with cross-functional and globally distributed teams.
    • Comfortable operating in regulated and audit-driven environments.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Experience in engineering, manufacturing, aerospace, defense, or high-tech industries.
    • Prior experience supporting global rollouts or multi-region compliance processes.
    • Exposure to Agile or hybrid project delivery methodologies.

COMPENSATION
•    Competitive base salary commensurate with experience: $80,300-100,300  (subject to change dependent on physical location)
•    Posted salary ranges are made in good faith. TE Connectivity reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the experience/qualification of the selected candidate as well as internal and external equity.
•    Total Compensation = Base Salary + Incentive(s) + Benefits
