An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced and motivated physiotherapist to join the Physiotherapy Department at St Vincent's Hospital Melbourne. As a Grade 3 Physiotherapist within the Cardiorespiratory Team, you will provide expert physiotherapy assessment, treatment and management for patients within the Acute General Medicine and Complex Aged Care Services at our Fitzroy campus. Reporting to the Grade 4 Cardiorespiratory Team Leader, you will play a key leadership role within both the Physiotherapy Department and multidisciplinary General Medicine team. The position offers the opportunity to contribute to service development, quality improvement and research initiatives while supporting the professional growth of physiotherapists, Allied Health Assistants and students. This is an ideal opportunity for a senior clinician looking to further develop their leadership skills within a collaborative and progressive department committed to excellence in patient care, education and research.
Classification: VB7 – VC1 ($104,135 - $118,981 per annum, pro rata for part time).
Provide leadership and coordination of physiotherapy services within Acute General Medicine and Complex Aged Care.
Deliver advanced physiotherapy assessment, treatment and management for patients with complex medical and geriatric conditions.
Provide clinical supervision, mentoring and support to physiotherapists, Allied Health Assistants and students.
Coordinate and contribute to undergraduate physiotherapy clinical education programs.
Participate in multidisciplinary ward rounds, meetings and discharge planning activities.
Provide tertiary-level physiotherapy consultation across the organisation as required.
Lead and contribute to research, service development and quality improvement initiatives within the Cardiorespiratory Team.
Support best practice and evidence-based care across the service.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
Current registration, or eligibility for registration, with the Physiotherapy Board of Australia.
A minimum of seven years' post-graduate physiotherapy experience.
Extensive experience and clinical expertise in acute hospital physiotherapy practice.
Strong knowledge of physiotherapy management within General Medicine and/or Complex Aged Care settings.
Demonstrated leadership skills and experience supervising physiotherapists, students and support staff.
Excellent communication, interpersonal and stakeholder engagement skills.
Proven ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
A commitment to evidence-based practice, continuous improvement and professional development.
Postgraduate qualifications in a relevant area of physiotherapy, or progress towards obtaining one, will be highly regarded.
