Purpose

As part of the Worley Graduate Community and under the guidance of experienced process engineers, the Graduate Process Engineer-in-Training (EIT) supports the delivery of safe, high-quality process engineering services to Worley and its customers. This role provides structured mentorship, hands-on project exposure, and a strong technical foundation to support professional development toward registration as a Professional Engineer.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver process engineering services that meet Worley, client, and applicable statutory and regulatory requirements, on time and within budget.

  • You will support the process engineering team by:

  • Assisting with the preparation of process engineering deliverables, including:

    • Process flow diagrams (PFDs) and piping & instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs)

    • Heat and material balances

    • Process datasheets, calculations, and technical reports

  • Contributing to engineering studies, technical evaluations, and design reviews under supervision.

  • Supporting the development of process models and simulations as required.

  • Participating in hazard identification and risk assessment activities (e.g., HAZID, HAZOP) as part of multidisciplinary teams.

  • Collaborating with other disciplines (mechanical, piping, electrical, instrumentation, and project controls) to support integrated project delivery.

  • Supporting procurement, construction, and commissioning activities by assisting with technical clarifications and document reviews.

  • Identifying technical issues, proposing solutions, and seeking guidance when appropriate.

  • Maintaining strong awareness of health, safety, and environmental (HSE) requirements and contributing to Worley’s safety culture.

What You Will Bring

Technical & Industry Experience

  • Co-op, internship, or vacation student experience in an engineering or industrial environment is an asset.

  • Foundational knowledge of chemical/process engineering principles, including thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, heat and mass transfer, and reaction engineering.

  • Developing skills with process engineering tools and software (e.g., Aspen HYSYS, Aspen Plus, UniSim, or similar).

  • Basic proficiency with common productivity tools (e.g., MS Office Suite).

  • Curiosity, strong problem-solving skills, and a willingness to learn in a project-based environment.

Education, Qualifications & Training
Required:

  • A recognized and relevant engineering degree in Chemical Engineering or a related discipline that is eligible for registration as an Engineer-in-Training and progression toward Professional Engineer status.
